I listened to the results acknowledgement speeches last night from New Hampshire.

I was impressed by the comments of Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders...and, for the most part, of John Kasich.

But that display put on by Donald Trump was something to make the skin crawl.

What must it be like to be a Republican after listening to the shallowness and emptiness of that man...speaking in VICTORY, no less!

How has the party of Abraham Lincoln come to this?

Anyway...are there actually Republicans here who think Donald Trump is what the United States should put on the world stage to represent our country?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Wait, you are calling Chump an empty suit? When Hitlery is your front runner? Uhm.....oooooo-kay.

In Britain he's viewed with a combination of disbelief, humour and fear. He makes our more eccentric politicians look positively mainstream.

There is no comparison. Mrs. Clinton has command of facts and issues. Trump has none of that and makes up for it through narcissistic bloviation.

An example is when he was interviewed about two weeks ago on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." Trump said, "Nobody knows health care better than Donald Trump." When Stephanopoulos challenged him on how his plan would differ from Obamacare, if both are aimed at making sure everyone is insured and would involve government help. Trump said, "I want people taken care of" and "We're going to work with our hospitals," Trump replied. "We're going to work with our doctors. We've got to do something. ... We'll work something out. That doesn't mean single-payer."

It's clear Trump has no details nor a plan. Winging it seems to be his operational style.

Hillary is more presidential while sitting on the toilet…than Trump is when dressed in white tie.

I can understand why the people there think that…and have a lot of trouble wondering why the Republicans in our country don’t. He is an ass!

I was stationed in England lots of years back…in Gainsborough, Lincs. Spent two of the best years of my life there.

He is all suit...and nothing else. Except Donald is the new Orange.

Even his supporters must have cringed last night during that "speech."

i'm thinking they lapped it up
it's a cult of personality

They did lap it up, with the final cheering of "U - S - A."

I guess they didn't notice that the only substance was at the end:
We have political hacks negotiating our deals for billions and billions and billions of dollars. Not going to happen anymore. We're going to use the finest businesspeople in the world. We are going to something so good and so fast and so strong. And the world is going to respect us again. Believe me.
So, Trump wants businesspeople, who typically don't know foreign relations, to negotiate trade deals. This is stupid on so many levels.

While I agree that a lot of Trumps ideas and comments are sheer lunacy, the idea of having people who are experienced in business, manufacturing and trade actually helping in negotiations with other countries is not really that far off.

I will never vote for him, but some of his ideas are not all that bad.

That's the same theory behind putting people in key government positions, like Treasury Secy, that came from Wall St. Surely they have the experience. But the problem is that while they have the experience, they don't have the right perspective. We want government officials to be negotiating trade policies that help consumers and not only the corporations where these experts were weened.

The trumpeter is a dolt. His answer wrt to the nuclear triad is a perfect example. Anyone over the age of 40 who reads follows world events etc has a passible understanding of what that means

If it came to Trump or Hilary winning the Presidency, the other parties could expect to benefit in the following mid term elections.
