Likely after NH a few more will drop out and their supporters will get behind whoever is left standing to challenge Trump...hopefully Rubio.

But nothing will stop the media mentions you refer to - that has nothing to do with PAC money anyway.
 

Why would they try? To even entertain the notion would mean an acceptance of splitting the party. It is not about outspending Trump, it would be about outspending the time the media talks about him anyway. Which might give the consequence of the media talking even more about Trump simply because everyone would key off of the GOP trying to spend so much as to support some other candidate.

The "donors" in question cannot be interested, splitting the party means even less likelihood of them winning. Probably made worse by Trump being upset enough to run as an Independent claiming the GOP trying to submarine him nullifies that party pledge nonsense he signed months ago.

Again, Breitbart is engaging in uselessness if not outright falsehood reporting.

The ship has sailed, Trump wins the primary is about the only takeaway from this idea.

Personally, I'd prefer Bernie...but it ain't gonna work out that way. Heck, I don't even think Jeb! would be really that bad - the positions he took were just ones that he had to take in order to pander to the base and stay competitive. But I'd still prefer Hillary to him, and Bernie to her.
 

Trump is the GOP hopeful. A brokered convention is not likely and would split the party with no hope of a GOP win.

IMO the establishment needs to get a grip on the fact that they are done. And it's about time.
 

I would prefer Bernie to Clinton and Bernie to Trump. But I got no real problem with Jeb or Rubio. I would rather one of those guys win it before Trump or Clinton. I totally respect Bernie and where his heart is at. But he is a crazy ol' coot. Love him like Santa Claus, BUT, not practical.

Rubio and Jeb. That's the ticket. I favor Rubio because Jeb has a last name association that nearly ruined America. I really would prefer that family political dynasty would retire to the history books. But, in all fairness, Jeb shouldn't be punished for his idiot brother.

I agree but it's lose/lose for the GOP no matter what path they choose. This GOP implosion couldn't have come at a worse time.

I mean, Hillary???? Really???? The GOP would rather hitch their wagon to Trump to make their proud statement that the establishment is done, than actually TRY to win the oval office??? Pride goeth before a fall. Let's hope the GOP comes to it's senses and gets behind someone the moderates, independants and centrists, as well as the other half of their own base, would vote for. Otherwise, get used to hearing about President Clinton's on-going drama for at least 4 years.
 

I think the demise of Trump as a viable candidate is wishful thinking and a bit premature. Establishment supporters are not going to become Hillary or Bernie supporters. OTOH, Hillary supporters may or may not become Sanders supporters.

It's a long way until the general and a lot can happen. Hillary may not run. Either her legal issues or her health may preclude her nomination, or her ability to run after her nomination. Trump is here to stay barring something stupid by the establishment. and I don't rule that out.

The real problem for both sides as I see it is neither has a backup quarterback. Hillary is/was the presumptive D candidate. No others need apply, and The Donald grabbed the bull by the horns and flipped him on his ass.
 

In short, we're screwed and tattooed. No argument from me. Let's get a beer. LOT'S of beer.

Nope. They will get behind Trump unless they want to lose the general election.
 
It will be an interesting GOP convention next summer

The GOP might as well admit the fact that Trump is going to be hanging around for a while.
