Can the GOP and the Trump cronies make Trump's followers believe that January 6th was just a walk in the park?

The GOP knows that the House investigation into January 6th is going to start soon. I do not know who much of the video evidence of what happened at the Capital has been seen by Trump followers on Fox and Newsmax and other right wing media, so I do not know if Trump followers have been given any kind of view of the violence that occurred. So can the GOP and Trump's cronies actually convince a majority of Trump followers that there is nothing there to be seen and that the investigation is nothing but political?

An investigation is useless and will convince no one who does not already recognize the insurrection as an insurrection.

I don’t think Republicans need much convincing on ending democracy. They seem all in on it.

They've already convinced themselves.

The question is can they convince thinking people to join them?

Walk in a park?

We have people here who act like every single one of the overwhelmingly peaceful protesters last summer were personally responsible for the acts of criminals who use protests as cover calling a literal insurrection just a "kegger".

One might be about to say something stupid shortly.

Ultimately, history will not be kind to Trump, and even less kind to his cult followers.

Imagine the insurrection had happened in the days before cell phones, without much video. The false claims about it being 'peaceful' would make it more of a 'dispute', a some say one thing, some say another. Luckily, we do have video.

I think you that backwards. I think trump will be seen as the worst.

It was a big kerfuffle, true.

But if you keep exaggerating, saying it was a "commotion" or a "disturbance," a lot of people will roll their eyes.

There was property damage, police getting assaulted, trespass, but not much that doesn't go on in any big demonstration.

We've already gotten the "it's just a kegger that got out of hand" thing. They've already convinced themselves that it was no big deal.

???? what is a "Trump follower"?

my "GUESS" is Trump followers already largely believe in the stupidity that the election was stolen and 1/6 wasn't a big deal

I mean at least 30% according to polls of republicans believe that nonsense so if a smaller group of "trump followers" id guess the number is already VERY high.

Just show the Trumpers this picture. If that doesn't do it, nothing will:

Ah, a January 6th truthier here for sure. Over a hundred policemen injured, some still not back at work due to their injuries. The rioters were yelling stop the steal, which if you read the definition would be an insurrection, and hang Mike Pence. And only true trumpsters would believe it was just a disturbance. People with a working brain cell know it ws a riot.

An attempted coup of our representatives.

Clearly, you do not know the meaning of “kerfuffle”.

More words that you clearly do not know the meanings of.

A shameful, absurd conflation of events and significance.

The Trump supporters do not believe it was immoral or illegal.
Many of the deluded fools believe the bat shit crazy, violent Trumpsters involved are patriots.

They consider Babbitt a hero.

You are right the Trumpers don't, although I think what is even worse is the Republicans in leadership who know darn well what really happened and yet promote the "no big deal" narrative. So much for the law and order narrative......they can place that one where the sun don't shine!

They don't have to convince them of that. They just need to convince them that any dishonest, criminal and immoral acts that Trump is proven guilty of are part of a "Deep State" conspiracy. The rest follows naturally. Be it the insurrection, his financial crimes, his abuse of power, obstruction of justice... anything.... They just make up a Conspiracy Theory and... they're done.

"Trump is infallible" is already dogma within his cult. Facts and reality are no match.
