"Today we remind the rest of the nation that California is different"
He got that right.
Democrats push to extend health, legal rights to immigrants
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Responding to federal inaction over immigration reform, California Democrats on Tuesday announced a package of 10 bills that would extend health care, legal rights and business protection to immigrants who are illegally living in the state.
Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins, D-San Diego, and Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de Leon, D-Los Angeles, led the majority party's push to expand health coverage to all Californians, regardless of their immigration status, although they are not proposing any funding to pay for the extensions.
"Today we remind the rest of the nation that California is different," de Leon said at a news conference in Sacramento attended by immigrant-rights advocates and families with members in the country illegally.
Democrats who control the governor's office and both chambers of the Legislature have said they want to find ways for immigrants to come out of the state's economic shadows. The 10 bills were previously introduced, but they were touted Tuesday by supporters for advancing immigrants' rights.
Should California Progressives in control of the government be rewarding illegal aliens at the expense of US citizens living in the state? What should minorities do to counter the tremendous economic harm illegal aliens have caused them, given Progressives apparently are no longer interested in them?
So the hole isn't deep enough yet, and they've got aims to dig it even deeper yet?
Where else but in the land of fruits and nuts does this logic apply.
Where else but only there is making the problem bigger and more expensive considered 'progress'?

The lesson is that California represents exactly what Progressives want to do to the country. It should be viewed as their vision for the future of the United States.
Big percentages of the people on welfare. Failed education, rampant crime, high unemployment, business killing regulations, exploited minorities, the list goes on and on.
This is Progressivism defined. California is an example of the end game. It's not mid-experiment, so the results of their actions are still coming together. It is mature reality.
Everyone should look at California and decide if that is what they want for the rest of the country, and then vote accordingly.
Those "illegals" have been rewarding the State for many years (20 or more in some cases) with cheap labor. It is about time they got something back.
Yup. Pretty much.
What gets me is the continual redefinition of 'success' so that they can claim it for their failed and failing initiatives, and also that many of the sheeple swallow this crap hook line and sinker. Utterly amazing, in a very bad way.
I remain amazed that the cast offs of Progressives in the Black and other minority communities haven't raised up to fight back against this new oppression by them. One would think the generations of broken promises would be enough.
Hmm. Would that group include people like Sharpton and Jackson then? 'cause if so, I think the answer would be pretty clear.

You have a point. Perhaps it's quiet because they're working on how they can extract money from something called "truth". I would think that would be a difficult task for them.

Greetings, ocean515. :2wave:
How do you reach the "guy and gal on the street?" Most do not visit sites like this where facts are presented, and pros and cons are debated - they go by what they hear on TV. There is the further problem of those not wanting to give up the help they receive in the form of food stamps and other government assistance just to stay alive in most, but not all cases. Just another example of government creating the problem then offering a way to correct it. Add in victimhood and racism, which are encouraged by those with an agenda, and this is what follows. If this is supposedly agreeable to those that have to pay for it, why are so many businesses fleeing California for more tax friendly States? Do your legislators at the State level also exempt themselves from the things the rest of the people have to put up with, like they do in DC? California is a beautiful State, scenery-wise, but tourists can't be counted on to pay all the bills that are coming due, and there are more and more all the time not paying taxes, which will eventually require a massive federal bailout, IMO. That will anger those States, and its citizens, that are trying to live within their budgets, and rightfully so. Another step on the way down to the bottom, I guess.

Considering the big ado about Arizona trying to usurp government power of immigration I see this as no different. In fact it goes AGAINST Federal law by essentially making illegal aliens legal in the state of California. Which they do not have the power to do. Only the Feds have that power.
However you won't hear a peep from Obama or Holder about this.
does anyone know what this is?
does anyone know what this is?
Do you know?
The irony is that California is one of the most economically viable states. In size and economic capabilities it equals Canada, which many of the Cadillac socialist in Hollywood hold out as an ideal. What interrupts that reality is that California is slowly going bankrupt. Like the proverbial frog in the glass of water, the heat has been turned up and they do not notice they are in free fall, doing what Canada did in the mid to late 90's, borrowing to pay interest.
Canada took the hard road and practically dismantled the social safety net, evaporated the deficit and even in these times operates with a surplus....yes a surplus as in money left over after they have met all spending obligations. This s called "sound fiscal management' for "sustainable" social programs.
So you have the example there before you. One of the richest states is failing as a result of run-away socialism, an ideology with a questionable blue print. If this is the plan for the rest of the country, the poor states are screwed, blued and tattooed before the music plays.
It is simple insanity to offer full privileges and free medical care to illegals when the back door is still wide open. Any high school freshman will see that adding to the perks and "free stuff" is only an attraction for even more illegals who will want even more "rights"
no since you cannot write any law, which names a person or group giving them a leg up or push down....if you do thats not equally under the law.
Really? Tell that to all those people that broke the law, served their time, and still have limited Rights.
And its not "equally under the law". Its equality under the law. Getting tired of seeing people pronounce this wrong.
