California Governor Newsom's Wild Spending Spree Raises Eyebrows

California is facing a projected record deficit of $73 billion - a huge increase over previous deficits.

“The actual increase in the state’s budget problem will depend on a number of factors, including formula-driven spending changes, most notably Proposition 98 spending requirements for schools and community colleges,” per California Legislative Analyst’s Office.

California’s population has been declining, with many residents fleeing to lower-tax states like Texas, Arizona, Florida, and Washington.

We tried to recall Governor Newsom in 2021 (I was a volunteer petitioner for that action) for his incompetence, alas that failed, and Californians are stuck with Newsom's deficit spending and bad policies, and the deficits will continue to increase as more and more taxpayers flee the state, and tax revenues drop.

Not surprisingly, Californians who don't pay taxes tend to stay here.
 
CA has been living in a La-la land of infinite tax revenue. That's quickly coming to an end. We'll see what happens but there's no arguing against the simple math of spending more than you make.

Presumably, if you had a rational argument, then you would make it. But instead of an actual argument, you post this silly nonsense.

Lots of people move to CA and then change their minds and move somewhere else.

It isn’t native CA residents that leave. CA is a very “sticky” state for anyone born there.

Nah. That's an expression - it wasn't meant literally. I shouldn't need to explain that, but whatever . . .
Governor Newsom is a failed governor. His over-taxing and over-spending policies have put California in the red. (in the red means that California spends more than it receives in revenues).

Newsom knows that the tax base is dwindling, because many Californians are fleeing to states with lower taxes. The responsible thing for a leader to would be to cut spending - proportional to the loss in revenues. That would be logical/rational response.

But dipshit Newsom likes to spend other people's money, so he RAISED taxes even higher, which naturally causes even MORE people to flee the state, resulting in even LESS tax revenues. It's a vicious cycle of overtaxation and deficit spending. California's deficit crisis will continue to worsen until Newsoms term expires and we finally get a competent governor.

Governor Newsom is a failed leader, and voters should expect that he would perform just as poorly as president.

Has CA failed to balance the state budget under Governor Newsom? Of course not, states are required to balance their budget. Spending will be cut.

CA is still undertaxed, but perhaps we should stop sending excess tax revenue to Republican led states that either provide too many benefits for their revenue, or refuse to raise taxes to pay for them.

You're gonna need a source for that fat one. Successful as a mayor, a Lt. Governor and a reelected governor. Just because you don't like him does not mean he has been a failed leader.

These left wingers cannot process information properly. California has the highest aggregate taxes in the COUNTRY, people are FLEEING the state because taxes are outrageously high, and still some lefties think Californians should be punished even MORE!
