Lawmakers aim to move California's presidential primary right behind Iowa and New Hampshire - LA Times
California lawmakers and the state's chief elections officer announced a new effort on Tuesday to move the state's 2020 primary up by three months, even giving the governor power to accelerate the timeline in hopes of closely following elections in Iowa and New Hampshire..."By holding our primary earlier, we will ensure that issues important to Californians are prioritized by presidential candidates from all political parties," Padilla said.
Make all state primaries occur on the same day. Problem solved.
I have wondered about the consequences that would have. It would almost certainly change the electoral process fundamentally and I am unsure that the positive effects would outway.

Soo....what...are they trying to make themselves more important or something? And what happens if other states follow suit which makes it all even again? Move the date again?
