...who's the homophobe?

Kamala Harris reveals her ‘first choice’ for running mate wasn’t Tim Walz: book

From the article:

In an excerpt from the former vice president’s forthcoming book, “107 Days,” obtained by The Atlantic magazine, Harris describes Buttigieg as her “first choice” but later deemed the openly gay former transportation secretary “too big of a risk” for the ticket.

Buttigieg “would have been an ideal partner — if I were a straight white man,” Harris wrote.
Basically saying - I Would Have Picked Bootigieg as VP But I Didn't Want to Run With a Homo

Identity politics will be the death of the Democrat Party.

Harris is a Black female. That means she has two strikes against her in some Americans' view.
Why? Why wouldn't she simply run the best ticket? That's racist. Like I said, identity politics will be the death of the Democrat Party.

Hmmm. Perhaps you don't live in this country. Or perhaps you live in a blue city in a blue state and thus are unaware of the racism and misogyny endemic in the USA.

Lucky, lucky you.

That's not how she said it. And I don't expect a righty to understand what she was really getting at.
Kamala Harris in her book I'll never read, which should have been subtitled, "How to spend $1.5 Billion in 15 Weeks and Get Nothing For It!"

[Buttigieg], “would have been an ideal partner — if I were a straight white man,”
That infers him being homosexual was a problem.

So, she went with second best:

Nope, I live in a Red State.

Interesting that you are aware that you are about to completely distort what was said in your own special way.
True. Cancel me. I did, however, provide the actual quote from her book in the text.

And two points in favor in some others'.

These two subsets are, in this regard at least, the same kind of person.
???

Harris is a Black female. Some Americans cling to racism and misogyny.

The addition of a gay to the ticket would, sadly, have likely made some others (those who are anti-gay, or are uneasy with or suspicious of gays) reject the ticket.

Could you imagine a Harris/Buttigieg ticket......a worthless VP teaming up with a worthless Transportation Secretary. ROFL, the left has no leaders, none at all. I can hear it now....."Venn diagrams ad nauseam with unstoppable hackles, and a four year fashion show of two gay men, strutting their stuff for America.

What do you find objectionable about Pete Buttigieg? Seriously, can you explain or is it simply a reflex?

It's not about his political views, he just comes off like a smug asshole. Someone like Mamdani is very likable, yet has much more radical left wing views.

On top of that, they have no platform. Cost of living is a huge issue now, and everything they support increases it, which is why people and businesses are fleeing blue states in droves.

I don’t get that vibe from him. He seems to be honest and well informed.

I find him to be likable enough, but that’s me.

Harris is open about the racism and misogyny in this country. That she was reluctant to add anti-gay bigotry to the mixture makes sense.

Whether it's against her or in favor.
When it comes to Americans, I'd say racism, misgogyny and/or anti-gay/anti-LGBTQ bigotry is the bigger draw.

Then again, I live in a red, red state, so perhaps my view is unduly jaundiced.

You honestly think people didn't vote for Kamala Harris because she was a black female? Hell, I would have voted for her if her name had been Condoleezza Rice and she were a Republican. You think people wouldn't have voted for Pete Buttigieg because he's a homosexual? I would consider voting for him if his name was Richard Grenell and he was Republican.

It has nothing to do with race, sex, or sexual orientation. They were, as was Tim Walz, horrible candidates. I didn't vote for Harris/Walz because they're progressive liberals that would have driven the country into a deeper pit than did Joe Biden.

LOL....yeah, I do.

Could be the product of living in this red, red state.

Or, and here me out here, it could be because Harris/Walz were a couple of far left ideologues who, had they been two white males, would have never gotten the conservative vote.
