Business goes on as usual in the democrat run gun controlled city. This last week end 34 were shot, and 9 are dead. So much for the big lie of gun control laws.

But the big thing is what is the democrat mayor doing about it----------------nothing as usual. She need to be recalled.

Any one thinking about going there on vacation is nuts.

What are all those feds Trump sent to Chicago doing??

No "Wall of Moms" to beat on in Chi-Town like they did in Portland.

Didn't Trump say he would clean up the gun violence in Chicago when he took office? Yes yes he did. Another lie from The Donald.

You're right, gun control doesn't work. Let's just arm everyone in Chicago.

Do you lick lead paint?

Still no link. Oh well, stream-of-what-passes-for-consciousness rejected.

Also I've been to Chicago a number of times. Walked all over it, including one day for about 4h from around the center straight north to this tapas place someone recommended, though with a booze stop on the way. Quite a nice city, really.

The cruises on the lake are actually worth going on. Great view of the skyline from on the water.

With an out-of control pandemic, a crashed economy, no semblance of normal life, kids can't got to school - parents can't go work, this is what you're going to see. Violence and social unrest have risen across the nation. And it likely won't get better, until the pandemic & economy improve.

There's no better way to enjoy Chicago, then to do a fair-weather bar-hopping & restaurant-hopping walkabout of one or more of the denser lakefront neighborhoods. There's not many walking cities in America. But once you've tried it, you'll love it!

My best friend from all the way back in 3rd grade invited me and my wife (EDIT: TO HIS WEDDING. Derp). I'd left the town I met him in in 8th grade, visited in 10th, didn't see him until he and his mother visited my parents over Thanksgiving in law school (both sets of parents became friends way back), but for the last 15ish years we've been seeing him 1-2 times a year. He lives out there. Now in a city 2-3 hours south of Chicago. But then, he had his wedding in Chicago since he/she were a lot closer. So we turned it into a vacation.

The South & West suburbs & nearby cities, especially the South, have a "farmland" feel about them. North 'burbs & cities, have a sort of "woodlands" feel to them. Whereas the city itself, particularly the Lakefront & closer-in neighborhoods, while still Midwestern have a sort of "east coast" feel to them.

It's an interesting city. It has much of the east-coast urban feel to it, but it still has a Midwestern vibe. And it is b-i-g! Really big! East-coasters from anywhere but NYC, are pretty amazed at the size. Bostonians & Philidelphians are always blown away.

I personally think the place is great. Huge & cosmopolitan, dense & urban, with amazing architecture, but with a Midwestern underpinning. I love that Midwestern ethos going-on!
