WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 -- President Bush said today he is certain that elements of the Iranian government are supplying deadly roadside bombs that kill American troops in Iraq, even if the innermost circle of the government is not involved.
<snip>
The United States regards the Quds Force as part of the Iranian government, since the force has historically been under the command of Iran’s senior religious leaders. And even if the highest officials in Tehran have not directly ordered the Quds Force to supply weapons to Iraqi Shiites, they are still complicit, Mr. Bush said.
“What’s worse?” Mr. Bush asked. “That the government knew, or that the government didn’t know?”
One would think that you would have learnt by now that calling other people stupid doesn't make you seem very learnt. You would think that after the disastrous Iraq Bush would've learnt by now how stupid that questioning is?

What the hell kind of question is that? know or not know? You would think that after the disastrous Iraq Bush would've learnt by now how stupid that questioning is?
Is the threat imminent? Is it a slam dunk ordeal? Have you exhausted all diplomatic means? Ok, so when are we invading?
The question makes perfect sense, what's worse that the Iranian government knows that the weapons that it is producing is being given to terrorists or that their government is so fuc/ked up that their weapons are able to fall into the hands of terrorists without them knowing about it especially given the fact that they are intending to build nuclear weapons.
And your description of the current administrations ability to sell arms would be.....
"Iran gets military gear in Pentagon surplus sale"

Wasn't Bush also certain that the GOP would keep majority?
I'll find a link...
Spare parts for the long obsolete F-14? Wow.
True, but sometimes when doors are wide open, one can't help but walk through. And it felt right to make a point.
Moderator's Warning: Not at all appropriate...but you know that.
If you have no problem with us selling arms to Iran why do you have a problem with Iran supplying arms to anyone else?
Going from your response it would therfore be ok for Iran to sell obsolete F-14's to anyone it chooses
Let 'em ****ing go for it, let's put one of those old bastards against the super hornet infact put 10 on 1 I got money on the 1.
I'll pay odds of one million to one if they don't have any military equipment from us that our super hornet would win. Care to take that bet?Let 'em ****ing go for it, let's put one of those old bastards against the super hornet infact put 10 on 1 I got money on the 1.
So for the record you have no problem with this administration selling military equipment to Iran......or indeed anyone who chooses to bid on these surplus auctions.
A) We didn't sell it directly to Iran we were tricked.
B) It's not that big a deal, the F14 is long obsolete it's like selling them parts to a Sherman tank.
A) Its incredibly unlikely Iran (if they are indeed supplying weapons) sold them direct to the fighters so whats your point?
Iranian Weapons Arm Iraqi Militias
WASHINGTON, Nov. 30, 2006 — U.S. officials say they have found smoking-gun evidence of Iranian support for terrorists in Iraq: brand-new weapons fresh from Iranian factories. According to a senior defense official, coalition forces have recently seized Iranian-made weapons and munitions that bear manufacturing dates in 2006.
This suggests, say the sources, that the material is going directly from Iranian factories to Shia militias, rather than taking a roundabout path through the black market. "There is no way this could be done without (Iranian) government approval," says a senior official.
ABC News: EXCLUSIVE: Iranian Weapons Arm Iraqi Militia
Are you saying govts have no responsibility to check where their weapons end up?
B) IED's are no big deal from the point of view that you cannot WIN a war with the use of these weapons....its gonna need a lot more than that to defeat the US military....so again I'll ask if its correct that you have no problem with the US selling weapons to Iran?
Wrong wrong wrong wrong, wrong wrong wrong wrong.
Their serial numbers show that they were made in 2006 proving that they didn't have time to go through the black market.
And furthermore; we have captured members of the Quds division of the elite revolutionary guard, one of which was a director of operations.
Yes they do and obviously we did since you're reading about it.
You're comparing apples and oranges, IEDs only have one application and that is to commit acts of terrorism and we can shoot the F14 out of the sky before it carries out any attacks, the same can not be said for an IED. IED's are not obsolete, the F14 is.
I wonder if Bush, in the sense of fair play, thinks about all the weapons we've supplied to almost every country in the world.
Which would obviously excuse the fact Iran is giving aid to the insurgents we fight.
