Bummer

I give this guy credit for at least hunting something that might fight back. I have no respect for guys that shoot twelve point bucks from 100 yards and hang the head on the wall like they did something great. The great thing they did was buy a good gun with a good scope. Credit should go to the manufacturers. And why would you bring the head of a dead animal into your house? I never understood that.

Don't get me wrong: I have nothing against people buying rifles and shooting deer. They're providing a public service, at least in NJ where dear run rampant. It's the belief that they're great sportsmen I don't buy.

While I won't celebrate his death, it's hard too feel too bad.
And the pros he was with don't sound very pro, or they wouldn't have allowed him to get into a situation that put him at risk of harm.

The keen conservationist believed hunting was a vital part of preserving wildlife.
Oh bullshit. You're not traveling the world killing shit for conservation. You just like killing shit.

Free Waterfall Senior: Look, nobody enjoys shooting penguins, but it you have to shoot penguins, well, you might as well enjoy it.

Hard to give him much credit for:

He also boasts of killing thousands of doves in just three days with 7 pals in Argentina.

Doves armed to the teeth with Javier Milei chainsaws perhaps.

Knew a guy who hunted boar with a spear. Weird guy. Horns implanted in his head, odd. Shaman, heathen, the whole thing, including prayers to the animal's spirit. But he didn't think it was sporting unless the the animal had a real chance to kill you first. Mad respect.
