It seems like Trump's immigration policy is taking its toll on its economy. As told in one story, Vega, the owner of many oil rigs in New Mexico, cannot find eonugh legal immigrants to operate them. He has decided to do things the legal way by not hiring illegals, partly because of Trump's hardline stance on illegal immigration

Conservatives often complain about illegal immigrants taking their jobs but the fact of the matter is that they take the jobs that US citizens don't want to do. These typically involve lots of physical labor.
 
Trump doesn't want the kind of immigrant who would be willing to take those dangerous jobs. And he especially doesn't want their families.
 

There was nothing in that article that says that US citizens don't want to take those oil related jobs. In fact, everyone who was quoted appeared to prefer to hire non-US citizens.

This article is nothing more than those employers whining because ICE is finally doing their jobs and enforcing the law. I have no sympathy for them.

They have two solutions:

1. If they insist on hiring non-US citizens, then they need to lobby Congress to reform the laws to make it more efficient for them to get work permits for non-US citizens.

2. Hire US citizens.
 

If you pay enough, you'll find US citizens willing to do the work. Basic economics.

But God forbid that big business have to actually pay their workers a decent amount! Liberals would never stand for that.
 
Absolute horse ****. If companies are whining about not being able to employ immigrants its because they do not want to pay Americans enough money to do those jobs in the first place. Assuming you are actually employed and American you wouldn't work at work at your job if it offered significantly less money.So why would you expect other Americans as well?

And it has nothing to do with poor working attitudes of Americans and lack of education/training? It is amazing how the "pay excuse" is used in all of these discussions and yet nothing about work attitudes... it is especially funny when the complaints come about jobs in one of the best paid industries in the US, where the average wage is 200k a year. Are you telling me that no American is willing to work for 200k a year?

Trump doesnt make the laws. Hes just enforcing then. Whats congress doing to change the laws to allow more legal immigrants in who have job offers?

Often when I hear about "jobs Americans don't want to do" I wonder "why don't they?"

And I also wonder if the supply of those willing to will ever end, forcing the job requirements to change.
 

I regularly hired illegal immigrants in my business because they need jobs the US government will not legally allow them to get. To hell with those laws if the government encourages illegals to come here with their children and then refuses to allow them to work to support themselves and their families.

Can you substantiate that salary claim? I don't see where they mention anything like that in the OP link.

Unemployment is already pretty low in the US.
 

Sad to see such blind hatred against immigrants, but at least this hurts Big Oil too. :thumbs:
