I'm not bothered by this. It was a juvenile action, a criminal offense, and stupid. With all that said, the Democrat party has shown zero respect for the will of the people and treated everyone like serfs, you do not do that to Americans and not expect someone to push back. You're right. I wouldn't say you were advocating violence, but your wording would indicate you're not bothered by it, IMHO.
It's gonna be ugly. In a way though this was earned by deceit and underhanded tactics, don't take this as my condoning assault or vandalism, but when people are pushed too far, this happens.
You and Crush are advocating violence against duly elected representatives of our government. Plain and simple.
You don't know me. I'm equally outraged when EITHER side uses or advocates violence against our elected officials for doing their job. Shame on the both of you and anyone else who does the same. You come in here posting of following the Constitution then spit on it with your threats of violence against our representatives because you don't like that elections have consequences.

Your assumption being that the majority of the people don't want this...I think your belief is mistaken. The majority of people who voted for Obama (the majority of voters) realized that he was going to do something with healthcare. You presume that because YOU are bothered by this, that everyone is. I suspect that is largely not the case.
I think a lot of people don't like the bill because of the size and complexity of it. Out of those, a small minority on the hardcore right is, in their typical nutjob fashion, screaming revolution, throwing bricks through windows, throwing their wolf t-shirts on, and going out protesting with their teabagging friends.
The problem for Republicans is that while the bill itself is unpopular, many aspects of it are very popular. I don't see too much support out there for bringing back pre-existing conditions, doing away with insurance reforms and so on.
Please don't pretend that the far left doesn't have a similar nutjob revolutionary brick-throwing contingent. We all know they do. But they aren't representative of the majority of liberals, and these idiots aren't representative of the majority of conservatives. It is what it is. This is a fringe act.

Of course there are nutjobs on the left, there are less of them though.

:stop: There is nothing modern about Stalinist tactics and corruption, these things have been around since before the time of the Romans. Second, do we actually know who threw the brick? If not then you cannot blame a conservative, the majority of U.S. citizens are fed up with Washington in general, especially the bill that just passed. Third, if you don't think your healthcare has just been radically effected by this you are mistaken, this thing has the ability to morph into something you will not like when you truly need health services regularly. This congress has the lowest approval rating in U.S. history, they treat their employers(We the people) like peasants they can't be bothered with, and disrespect us in general. This act was someone reminding them "we the people" are not happy. Do I condone it? No. Am I happy we're at this point? No. But do I feel sorry for the DNC? Hell No.Actually, its any time right wingers get drug a little closer to modernity, this happens. For the vast majority of Americans, this bill that just passed changes nothing at all in regards to their healthcare and health insurance. They won't notice anything good or bad.
Oh, bull****. I've worked with idiots from ALF since the early 1990s. There is a huge contingent of far left radicals in the U.S. Stop with the hypocrisy already, and stop feeding the us vs. them mentality.
You can think that all day, the polls say otherwise.Your assumption being that the majority of the people don't want this...I think your belief is mistaken.Really? Most of the news I listened to during the campaign didn't say more than a passing line about his healthcare agenda, only insiders knew he was going to go for a grand scale attempt at takeover. The majority of people who voted for Obama (the majority of voters) realized that he was going to do something with healthcare.Really, so all the protests nationwide, a brick through a DNC headquarters window IN NEW YORK CITY, and the Democrat senators running away from their votes and voters is all in my head right? I think someone's assuming they are in the majority, but it 'aint me.You presume that because YOU are bothered by this, that everyone is. I suspect that is largely not the case.
Oh come on. How many people do you think are in the Animal Liberation Front nationwide? Not that many. How much support do they get in the mainstream DNC? Zero.
No one is saying that an extremist group like the Idaho Militia enjoys mainstream support in the Republican Party, but don't act like a sizable portion of the hard core right are just flat out crazy. They are. You got a significant portion of the GOP base that honestly believes that Obama is not a U.S. citizen, is a muslim, is a communist, that believes that evolution is a conspiracy, the end of the world is at hand (rapture) and so on. They are flat out crazy when you get down to it.
You are among the most hyper partisan posters on this forum, I don't care what you think about the people's will. Thanks in advance......bye.The Will of the people?????
Does anyone understand how a Republic works.
They were voted into office!!
And the majority of the people who actually understand what the bill is trying to do, hope it succeeds...
The far-right partisan sheep blindly following their sith masters while guzzling down gallons of dark-red kool aide... They don't like the bill.
"socialism, communism, less freedom... yes, master... Yes, Sean, tell me what to say, tell me what to think... I am your servant.... Ann Coulter is a woman despite her having male body parts..."
The gullibility of the far-right teabagger is amazing...
Absolutely. The far left doesn't have a crazy wing because they're purer and holier than their far right counterparts.
/sarcasm.

Let's revisit how our government works. We aren't a straight democracy which operates on a majority/mob rule basis, but a representative democracy. That means that each district of the U.S. elects its own representation and those representatives enact the will of their constituents.
The majority of the representatives, IN BOTH THE HOUSE AND SENATE, are currently democrats. Those democrats were elected LOCALLY, with the understanding in the heads of most of the voters, that they would do something about healthcare.
Thus, your premise is flawed. You are equating your personal opinions and polls with doing the work of the people. The fact remains that if the people didn't want healthcare reform, they've had clear choices in the last 2 or 3 elections in that regard. There was not a voter in 2008 who didn't realize that casting a vote for a democrat was casting a vote for healthcare reform.
Sorry, teabaggers. You lost. Not only did you lose yesterday, but frankly, you lost 2 years ago. That was when the choice was made. Yesterday was a foregone conclusion when Democrats gained the majority in the house/senate and the presidency.
Of course they do, but on the left, its about an 80 / 20 split between reasonable and nutjob, while on the right its about a 60 / 40 anymore. I mean come on, who do you think is by and large more reasonable, an NPR listener, or a Glenn Beck listener?
I despise the loons on the extreme left, but the fact is there are not as many of them as there are nutjobs on the extreme right.
I guess you've forgotten the Seattle protests, eh?
Yeah, and it was people from all over the world to get up to the number that a typical neighborhood teabagger rally would bring in. Maybe if I lived on the west coast, or up in the northeast I would have a different perspective, but here in the "heartland", the right wing nutjobs significantly outnumber the left wing nutjobs.
Your perspective is based upon a flawed paradigm. I've lived in the west, and I've experienced the leftwing nutjobs at firsthand. Maybe, instead of fighting over whose nutjobs are worse, you could focus on bigger issues.
If you look through the archives you will find that I was very critical of the extremists on the left back in the Bush years too.
