A fascinating article explaining how Brazil's military establishment is taking over more and more political and administrative power, perhaps in anticipation of a Bolsonaro loss to Lula in the 2022 elections.

Is a soft coup in the offing?

Cheers and be well.

That's what aspiring autocrats do. If they can't gain the support of their people, take over political processes and render elections meaningless.

While Bolsonaro likes the military, the military doesn't like him, at all. They of course don't like Lula either.
