Every big city is going to have crime. I live in Philadelphia which has a democrat mayor who believes we are still a nation of laws and supports her police department. Arrests are made and she is honestly trying to make things better. In my opinion, she is the best mayor the city has seen in my lifetime, and I am a republican. You don't hear about her much because she does not follow a lot of the other blue city policies (she's not insane). We still have crime here, but murders are down along with violent crime because she allows the police to do their job.
I hate when lefties always push this stat. Knowing that it's a free for all for all types of crimes in those blue cities.

I live in Philly, and you can see murders went down while gun ownership increased dramatically. One could argue that this is a factor in the murder rates going down. I am a republican (not maga), I also believe guns should be taken off the streets. A lot of different factors other than more guns have contributed to the fall in murders. Better police presence in our neighborhoods for example.
This is what RF is looking for from you. I didn't go back to the 70's, but I remember the murder count was as high 2021-22 with less people living in the city. Was it because less people owned guns, don't know?

Arrests are also down in Chicago because they are following in the footsteps of LA and San Fran and not arresting people anymore. New York is the same way.
You never see the city council meetings where citizens and business owners are pleading for law Enforcment because crime is getting out of hand. You just see the left dem. leadership crying there is nothing to see here.
In Philly, we still have crime, but just not to the degree of other blue cities who curtail law enforcement.
