Fort Bragg, North Carolina (CNN)Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl pleaded guilty to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy via his attorney Monday.
Bergdahl, 31, was charged after he disappeared from his base in Afghanistan in June 2009 and was held in captivity by the Taliban until May 2014.
A judge said Bergdhal's maximum possible punishment would be life in prison, but he has not been sentenced yet.
An Obama bashing thread from you. In other news, the sun will set in the west tonight.

Obama's favorite military hero is headed for prison.
How many soldiers did we lose and terrorists did we give away to save this traitor?
During questioning from a judge Monday, Bergdahl said, "I left my observation post on my own." He also said, "I understand leaving was against the law."
Has it not crossed your mind that Obama deserved to be bashed?
Has it not dawned upon you that Obama is no longer in office?
I listened to the whole Serial series of podcasts about the Bergdahl case. He came across as psychologically unsuited for front-line service and, according to the Army Sanity Board, suffers from severe mental illness, but nevertheless responsible for his actions. Whether or not he deserves a long prison sentence after having suffered torture and 5 years in captivity at the hands of the Taliban is another matter. I suspect he's been punished enough for his really poor decisions. I don't believe there's any evidence that anyone was killed or injured as a direct result of being involved in the search for Bergdahl.
This guys an insult to men & women wearing the uniform, everywhere. No other way around it!Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl pleads guilty to desertion - CNNPolitics

That's the downside of controlling all three branches of government. There's nobody relevant to bash.
The US Coast Guard turned him out after 26 days! But the Army needs warm bodies......

But he's still one of ours, we bring ours back and take care of them here. That's the difference between us and them!
Maybe I shouldn't, but I feel bad for the guy. Not sure what he deserves, but I hope he doesn't get life.

IMO he should be locked in some facility for life. Too bad it will cost us more taxpayer $.
20/20 hindsight is never a good thing. While there were questions about Bergdahl's actions, we didn't know for sure until now and had no way then of knowing if he had in fact deserted.

I'm not sure what Obama did wrong on this issue. The Army would have proceeded to send teams out to look for him and I think (not sure of policy) our govt would have tried to get a prisoner back. It's up to us to charge him as needed, not allow the enemy to keep him and use him as leverage.
And now hopefully he'll get the punishment he deserves.
If the Army really did send an unfit man to the front lines, I hope that there is much learned from this harsh lesson where men lost their lives searching.
Of course you do not see what President Obama did wrong on this issue. Let me clue you in...
