I agree with what the sheriff stated about responsibility.
Yes.
Manslaughter, at least, and maybe criminal negligence, too.
A$$hole.
I would agree with involuntary manslaughter, tragic accidents that could have been prevented.
“With gun rights come gun responsibilities,” Sheriff Paul Pastor said in a prepared statement. “I believe that people should be able to defend themselves. But the way they do it, the methods and the approaches they use, must be applied with care and responsibility. They must consider possible consequences of actions.”
And who and where are they getting training on this? Oh wait.

Actually there are classes that train people, it is up to them whether they go to them or not, depends on their own experience.
For whom? Every time you buy a firearm? Just first time purchases? What about those that already own them, do they all have to attend one? How can you enforce it without knowing who all the owners are. Does the word infringed come into play?Should be mandatory IMO

Yep. The thief should be punished for the death.

The word 'infringed' is already in play. The camel's nose is in the tent.

You serious?
Nah, you're just tugging my chain, right?
True, but I will rather not have the entire camel inside the tent, best to smack the camel on the nose when he gets too friendly.

Actually in many states they can be if a death is a direct result of their crime.

Trumped by the word manslaughtered. A new gun? A refresher course. Professionals have to prove they are up to date in order to practice. Why not shooters?
They say there is a lawyer attached to each and every bullet you fire as a homeowner.
IN MY OPINION....this guy was dumb to shoot at a car thief. It endangers other (kills them), pokes holes in your own car, and does not stop them from racing away in the first place.
Just put one bullet in the rear window and any cop worth his badge will pull the vehicle over as soon as they see the bullet hole.
Most people have no idea at how penetrating modern pistol and rifle ammo can be.
That is one reason I made Dave's Wall out of double railroad ties.
Of course, we all know this is NOT the reason the OP posted this thread.
He wants to show how ALL, 100% of gun owners, are blood thirsty irresponsible Rambo-wannabe killers, and how no one should every attempt to protect their property or their lives at all.
Let's make **** up shall we?
