On Monday, two flavors of Blue Bell returned to store freezers, in the Houston area.
In support, we went and bought a 1/2 gallon of each.
Sometimes when we try something that we have not had in a while,
our memories tend to be better than reality.
This was not the case, the homemade vanilla, was better than I remember.

When it get's to San Antonio, then I'll get excited. I miss my cookies'n'cream.

Sorry you got only two flavors; I read Monday that there were four being delivered some places. Saw photos of folks lined up for store-openings to score the ice cream.

If Blue Bell took more interest in their production before, and had not killed 3 people in the process, we would not be having this discussion.

From what I have heard, they never found a source for the listeria in the plants.

To be fair, "The five patients became ill with listeriosis during their hospitalizations for unrelated causes between December 2013 and January 2015", said hospital spokeswoman Maria Loving.

Given ice cream is a common carrier of food-borne illness, maybe that shouldn't be on the menu for those with other illnesses.

IMO, BB went well beyond normal protocol to fix this issue and the hysteria surrounding this "outbreak" was over-the-top.
