I bet they will blame tourists
It was a jokeHow would tourists affect the power grid?
Can I go visit and just get a job in a power station and wreck the place?
I only get 2 weeks at a time on holiday so that's a really short time to go from new hire to being given a job where I can do any damage.

If you move up? Yes. Tradesman in higher positions are paid very well and likewise treated very well here. Part of the reason why American incomes have to be higher is because homeowners/companies pay more disposable income to trades contractors compared to EU. Most millionaires own a F150I'm just wondering if I can get a job in a US power station and get enough promotions to be in charge in my 2 week holiday.
Without electricity, the modern world would come unglued in short order, imo!
The more idealist part of me wants to blame culturally protestant financial institutions for taking over Catholic + Orthodox parts of Europe and bankrupting them(Greece, Italy, etc). You have to wonder who actually owns Iberian power and infrastructure at this point? Dutch Capital flooding into Spain is the real victory from the Eighty Years War.WHO dunnit?

Putin hack job??
As a general rule:People in the EU earn less as the cost of living is lower.
I'm sure most millionaires here have nice cars as well.
There's plenty of videos on YouTube about Americans who've moved to Europe and been shocked by the difference in cost of living.
This is why I always keep 2 weeks of food on handMost cities would be hopelessly screwed
As a general rule:
Top 30% of income or more, America is better living.
For the rest, same or no.

I never said that the US was better to live in as a blanket quote, but the US is simply more extreme. It is a country you either love or hate. A country that makes or breaks you. The US has both Vegas but also states that ban the lottery.I've only lived in the UK so I can't say.
I do wonder why you think living in the US is better though as we have access to all the same stuff you do.
Europeans are less materialistic than Americans and don't tend to need as much stuff.
And many diabetics will die because their medicine needs to be refrigeratedAfter a 2 week long blackout many supermarkets will be no-go zones as all the food will be rotting and making them uninhabitable.
Food warehouses will be horrific.

There are areas of America of unbelievable wealth and prosperity. A very large house, month-long vacations in Europe, beach houses, everyone is fit, healthy, attractive, high schools with entire athletic complexes, etc. To be upper middle class or rich in America is the greatest standard of living ever. On the flip side the poor in America live much worse than the poor in say, Germany, and have unbelievable rates of drug abuse, homelessness, etc.
The American dream was not just better economic standards but a chance to reinvent themselves. ONLY America could fight a horrifically bloody civil war and then get over it a generation later. Northern Ireland and Glasgow are still fighting the Reformation.
I'd imagine I have 2 weeks of tinned and bottled food in my cupboard without having really planned it, though I may be getting a bit bored of chickpeas and plum halves by the end of it.After a 2 week long blackout many supermarkets will be no-go zones as all the food will be rotting and making them uninhabitable.
