This is, as my brother would say, all normal.

Apparently, this was because he disarmed the student before he went and told a teacher, because we know that the armed student would have waited around for that.

He was expelled for being in possession of a weapon at the school, the possession of which was caused by him taking the gun off of the other student.

Guess which race Sakir McClurkin is? You have three guesses and the first two don't count.

Well, this story sucks on many levels.

****ing insane.

If the kid who brought the gun intended a shooting, it'd probably too late if the expelled kid had gone to the authorities. In fact, wasn't there a shooting in the news within the last couple years where children did report that another kid had a weapon, nothing was done in time, and then there was shooting?

This reeks of one of those 'absolute rules' (Zero tolerance) they have at schools where defending yourself result sin the same punishment as the aggressor.

It also sounds like you might not have all the facts before the rush to judgement as is oh so common here.

"However, Michigan law provides very clear direction in cases involving dangerous weapons. The investigation-which included statements and video evidence-left no ambiguity and required this outcome"

But RACISM!!!!

School said / parent said. I wish we could see the actual investigation which claims left no ambiguity. Any kid would say it wasn't their gun. At least mom got paid with her go fund me.

From Tom Homan to Jeffrey 'E' Word to this episode, lib-progs are far too reliant on investigations.

A DEI black boy was kicked out of school.

End of story.

MAGA.

No word on what became of the student who actually brought the gun to school. Was he arrested? Where did the gun come from? Any questions for the parents of the gun-toting student?

Too many gaps in this story to make a judgement yet.
That's where I am here.
"He didn't want to implicate himself in it, nor did he want to tell on the person that actually brought the firearm," his mother said. "Because he knows firearms aren't supposed to be in school."
Well you should probably tattle, because if you don't, then guess who is left in possession of the firearm?

But no mention what-so-ever of the student who brought it.
Seems odd.

Reading both sides of the story.

Sounds like the School district took the appropriate action. Don't know what the kid's later plans for the gun were, but there is no indication he had any intention of turning the gun in to the school or to authorities. He hid it behind a radiator cover.

Unfortunate.

..

"According to the district, the student who brought the firearm was taken into custody by police. The Lansing Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Tuesday."

No kids gunned down

That's as good an ending as our country can expect when kids take guns to school

This just in from Truth Social:

It appears the DEI black boy was attempting to frame an innocent white student, so your instinct to wait for the other side of the story may have served you very well.

MAGA.

I'm also interested in how and when school authorities became aware of the gun. If what we have read so far is true, I applaud the kid's decision to disarm, however, I don't expect an 11 year-old to have the best of judgement. His thought process is relevent.

Does the video show the disarming or just the kid hiding the gun?

Well, at least that's in your link. No mention in the OP link.

I'm curious about this in the NBC link.
"Sakir's natural reaction was, there's no way I'm going to hold on to this gun all day," his mother said. "He proceeded to go to class ... and dismantled it in class. There was a teacher in class and everything. People were around and everything."
Not a one saw him right there in class unloading it?
How did that go down?

In a ‘snitches get stitches’ (or worse) cultural environment, ‘tattling’ is highly discouraged. The decision likely came down to which punishment, from the school or from the original gun possessor and his/her close associates, was the lesser of two evils.

The principal of this school needs to be terminated, and his teaching credentials need to be cancelled.

This would call for a compliment like, "awesome job, but maybe next time".

This is why I dislike educators.

While a teacher and the class was watching?

You think teachers write those rules?

Their insurers write those rules.

I don't think insurers wrote the rules. I worked for a district for 20 years.

Educators, not all but most, like an all inclusive community punishment.
