Black male leaders say Biden will lose election if
he doesn't choose Black woman as VP
WASHINGTON – More than 100 Black male leaders, including activists, preachers, rappers and celebrities, in an open letter Monday called on Joe Biden to pick a Black woman as his running mate, saying that if he does not, he will lose the election.
"As someone who has said throughout the campaign that VP Joe Biden needs to choose a Black woman VP, the urgency for that pick has gone from something that SHOULD happen to something that HAS to happen," the open letter said, which was published the week that Biden is expected to announce his running mate.
The letter was created in solidarity with an April letter signed by more than 700 black women leaders – including pastors, doctors, lawyers and celebrities – calling on Biden to "recognize and seize this moment" by picking a black woman as his running mate. . . . .
As a recovered liberal and old, straight White (Ashkenazi) man
why would I support that party that preaches equality while . . . .
supporting racism and genderism?

Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic,
regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.

Exactly!
How about the MLK choice.
A choice based on the best qualified to take over the duties of President
regardless of the color of one's skin.
Add today, gender, sexual preference, etc.
And if he does pick one of them 3 black woman he is currently considering he'll lose anyway so who cares......
Condalica Rice would make a good VPFrom USA Today.

There are plenty of qualified black, female candidates, so why not?Exactly!

A female African American VP or President would give white right wingers high blood pressure and brain aneurysms.
Susan Rice may be his best choice within the boundaries Biden established.
Imagine the Democrats, so expert at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
don't Palin themselves as choosing Harris would.
My objection is the Democratic Party perpetuating racism and now, genderism too.
Well that seems ridiculous. Assuming for a moment Biden picks a progressive candidate that is not a black woman, does that mean those "leaders" ask their faithful to stay home on election day? They are not all of a sudden going to become President CheetoVonTweeto fans.

Who supported affirmative action..... the only thing you understand about king is one snippet of a speech.
True MLK supported affirmative action. My question is how many more years do we need affirmative action? It has been 59 years since JFK through an EO put Affirmative action in play.
"Government Contractors
In 1961, President John F. Kennedy issued an executive order mandating government contractors to "take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, creed, color, or national origin." ( Executive Order 10925) Since 1965, government contractors have been required to document their affirmative action programs through compliance reports, to contain "such information as to the practices, policies, programs, and employment policies, programs, and employment statistics of the contractor and each subcontractor . . . " (Executive Order 11246). Enforcement is conducted by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs."

It seems odd to focus on any non-black candidates that might be overlooked for this single nomination and apparently not give a damn about the qualified candidates from past elections that were probably overlooked because they were black. You can't fix the wrongs of racism by pretending it doesn't exist and that it doesn't already affect the status quo.

I have literally been to a concert and waited in line to get a beer behind more people than are mentioned in the OP.
Praise the Lord! Black people can get jobs in America.
Dude, you already told me who you are.
It's no good quoting MLK now.
