Hello, fellow birdfeeders, I was just wondering can I leave sunflower seeds in my trunk even if it gets too hot? Do I need to consider heat for sunflower seeds?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Shelled, 12 hours. For how long? And are they shelled (no shells)?
Uh, no. That's crazy talk. You need to consider whether the heat will turn the seed oils rancid and whether mold will start to grow. Any chance you can put them in a cooler with ice?
Go with the ice.Uh, no. That's crazy talk.
NoooooooGo with the ice.
Nah, I just am too lazy to move it beyond the trunk for the next 12 hours. What's the scoop here? Traveling 12 hours?

Am curious. What then is the solution?Well then the solution to this 'problem' seems pretty evident.

Well if you're not just being sarcastic(which I'm inclined to think you are), would be to move it to cooler storage.Am curious. What then is the solution?
How hot? It's near 100 where we live today.Shelled, 12 hours.
I quit feeding the birds in the summertime. They have plenty to eat. But during the winter months I will put some seed out especially during a blanket of snow.
Couldn't tell around here. I feed them on and off, and when I do it's like a mob at the feeders. Little pigs wipe it out in no time.I quit feeding the birds in the summertime. They have plenty to eat. But during the winter months I will put some seed out especially during a blanket of snow.

They don't let up until it's exhausted. Easy pickins is easy pickins I suppose.
Yeah I know.. I like to watch the birds, but damn, if I kept feed in there, I'd burn a 25 lb bag with quickness! You said it yourself...easy pickens'. Wildlife isnt going to work harder for meals if they feel safe.
If you care enough to buy feed, why not just bring it to a cooler place instead of asking a question that makes very little sense?Hello, fellow birdfeeders, I was just wondering can I leave sunflower seeds in my trunk even if it gets too hot? Do I need to consider heat for sunflower seeds?

What I've tried to make sense of, but..If you care enough to buy feed, why not just bring it to a cooler place instead of asking a question that makes very little sense?
Is this suppose to have some entertaining value?
Carry on.
