Nope, not at all Chris,
Same bull****.
My state is MA. By clicking on the map, I was lead to this part of the website where I can obtain sex offenders in my area without typing in any specific name. It will list all of the listed sex offenders in my city.
Sex Offender Registry Board
Only if you know the name of the offender when I clicked on my state. It was what I stated earlier.
I wasn’t intending to be personal but this kind of topic tends to trigger simplistic, dare I say knee-jerk, responses and I believe the reality is more complex and difficult that they give credit for. Questioning those responses can lead to more considered responses.never mind what my opinions are, what do you have to say about the topic, as I am not the topic here.
That is strange. I just checked your state for myself, and you're right. For Mass, all I have to do is select a city/town, and a list of all the registered offenders comes up for me. I think your state needs to fix that. All parents should be able to know if there is a pedophile living next door IMO.
Most definitely!I think of it as treatment and hopefully prevention. A lot of people are against it because of possible side effects from hormonal therapy, but I think the kids are more important.
How would you act differently if you knew there was a convicted sex offender living in your area compared to how you act now, knowing there is likely to be unconvinced ones somewhere near by.I mean, how do we know there isn't one convicted and released sex offender living next door to us? This is messed up, putting it mildly.

So it appears but given the reported lack of cooperation from the victim and her family and the lack of any other significant evidence, it was probably the best outcome achievable.
Why bother with court cases at all then. Why not just mob rule based on media coverage?
I'm also curious why it being implied that his being a billionaire somehow justifies greater punishment.
Fair point. To be honest I was thinking of systems where people are told there is a sex offender in the area rather than them being individually identified which is what I've experienced. What you're talking about is different (though while no contact with children is obvious, not contact with any other tenants sounds extreme and impractical to me).KNOWING that there is one living next door as opposed to not makes a big difference, wouldn't you say? If that particular person approaches your child (or ANY child) while playing outside, you can call the police and have him arrested because they are not supposed to have ANY contact with children.
I don't think his politics has been raised as any kind of relevant point. I know a lot of Americans are irrationally obsessed with party-political labeling but you're not all that ignorant are you? He's probably a Republican. If it were wealthy democrat, that sentence would be just fine and the Republicans would be asking that question.

Greater punishment? 4 months for sexually assaulting a child? You are joking. Right? He should have gotten what most child molesters get when they are convicted of such a horrible crime. YEARS!!
You missed my point. What happened in this case aside, there are people on the thread clearly implying that in general terms, being a billionaire justifies greater punishment than it should for anyone else. For example, the comment I was replying to was suggesting a prison uniform labelled "Billionaire Paedophile".Greater punishment? 4 months for sexually assaulting a child? You are joking. Right?
