I remember when Trump announced his candidacy by bashing immigrants and people laughed that he could never win. Being familiar with Hitler’s successful scapegoating of the Jews on his climb to power and I knew very well that he could win. His opponent being a woman also convinced me.

The "unlikeable" Hillary Clinton won 48% of the popular vote to Trump's 46%. But those votes only netted her 227 electoral votes against Trump's 304 electoral votes.

The "cackling" Kamala Harris, with barely more than 3 months to campaign, won 48% of the popular vote to Trump's 49%. But those votes only netted her 226 electoral votes against Trump's 312 electoral votes.
