Yes. All of our resident Trump haters should watch this video. And while they are at it, they should dial back their TDS and try to engage in rational discussion for once in their lives.Regardless of how you view Bill Maher, I think this is some great advice. His point is not to get wrapped up in the BS Trump puts out there to overshadow the damage he is really doing. Best to focus on the major issues, not things like The Gulf of America, his feud with Taylor Swift, wanting to annex Canada, etc. This is just "flooding the zone with shit" as Steve Bannon recommended. We all know Trump acts like a shunned school girl who wasn't invited to the prom, and yes it makes for good comedy, but we should overlook it and give attention to the true issues.
I love his comment that with this administration you have to "triage your outrage".
Hey, I'll be the first to admit I've posted videos of Trump falling asleep because I occasionally need a comedic break but we really need to focus on the major issues. I do still engage in rational discussions. This is one of them.Yes. All of our resident Trump haters should watch this video. It's clear you don't understand the meaning of rational discussion.I agree. We absolutely should triage our outrage. But Republicans are not simply "flooding the zone" with disgusting rhetoric or talking points. I mean, I do not see that many people getting upset about the "Gulf of America" stuff right now. Rather, Republicans are flooding the zone even more outrageous actions.
The Republicans are creating a police state and depriving citizens and residents of the United States of due process. The Republicans are further funding and cheer leading a genocide in the Palestinian territories. The Republicans are further restricting abortion rights. The Republicans are destroying our ability to gather reliable economic data. The Republicans are destroying the institutions that are meant to keep Americans safe, from the National Weather Service, to the Environmental Protection Agency to Health and Human Services. The Republicans are de-funding healthcare for our poor and elderly to benefit the wealthy and privileged.
Republicans as a party and their voters have been led down the primrose path to becoming categorically anti-thought, anti-freedom, anti-life and generally anti-humanity. If it were framed in just the right way for them, most would vote to give their own children and grandchildren cancer if they were assured that the children and grandchildren of liberals and leftists would also get cancer. And then they would sob and post genuine heartfelt pleas for donations for their kids' on websites like GoFundMe out of the genuine pain of those incapable of one second of self-examination, objectivity or critical thought.

Oh well...
Been saying this for years. Once in a while Maher has a good point.
Bill Maher is wrong about damn near ****ing everything.
People can walk and chew gum at the same time.

From standard rant about the other tribe's political animals to some really scurrilous accusations of "most" of the other tribe.
A distasteful post that will probably be answered in the same spirit.
Bill Maher is wrong about damn near ****ing everything. Remember, this is the same mother****er who got mad at woke liberal college students for opposition to slavery and slaveowners.
If one votes instinctively against environmental protection regulations, or votes for those representatives who vote for them, one is voting for their children and grandchildren to have cancer. It really is as simple as that. Sometimes the juice is worth the squeeze.
