SEN. BIDEN SHOCK INTERVIEW: OBAMA FIRST 'CLEAN' BLACK IN MAINSTREAM... 'I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy'...

If he were a Republican this would be the last of his campaign for President.

Well if you read Drudge regularly you'd find that he's more accurate than most.

And I'm not a Republican.

Why not stick with issue instead of the invective?

Do I care to get into an inane argument about Drudge? No.

So what about Biden saying Obama is the FIRST "clean" Black from the mainstream? Did he just shoot himself in the foot or is the comment appropriate?

I am saying that this story doesn't come from Drudge. Rarely does Drudge post anything that isn't first reported elsewhere. All he does is compile stories from other sites...including this one on Biden. He even provides video and audio of Biden saying it.

I could care less that you challenged them, he's not the issue and your blantant attempt to divert in order to protect Biden is laughable.

Drudge had it ACCURATE. The story is true. Your attempt to deflect by attacking Drudge just fell on it's face.

To discuss the issues in a civil manner, the issue is Biden and his remark. Your specious smear on Drudge was a phony issue, a red herring as you like to call them. If you want to discuss your assertion about Drudge's veracity start a thread on it and see if anyone else has any interest, I don't.

So what about Biden's remark did he just show once again why he'll never be President?

You would think anyone wanting to make assertions about Drudge would at least go and read it and see that what you say is accurate. Rare is the story where he is actually reporting it. He links to interesting stories plus his website links to EVERY other news link. OK nifty no I'm not going to find a source that proves EVERY news link in the world is linked there, it's a figure of speech. You know what that is.

It is being reported that Biden has called Obama and explained what he meant and that it had been taken out of context. According to tonight's network news programs, all is well between the two and the story is over.

Actually that's just an ad hom. A red herring would be something distracting from the real issue. He was attacking the real issue, just in a fallacious fashion.

Personally, I think Biden is the democrats best shot at president. He has the know-how to start fixing Bush's disaster of a war. That said...depending on who the republicans run (and more likely who the LP runs) I'll probably vote against him.

Care to "share" where I said he has a plan? I do love how people read what they want to read. He has the EXPERIENCE to know how to handle the situation. This is something Obama, Clinton, and even Bush don't/didn't have.

Like I said, there are too many other things I disagree with Biden on, so I haven't taken the time to deeply research exactly what he wants to do, but you're more than welcome to do a Google search or try some of these.

No this thread is nothing more than an incarnation of Stinger's f***ination with non-stories. There is no point to the thread, hence nothing to discuss, except Drudge's non-issue, event-driven "hearsay" journalism. And also, possibly, why our national debate has devolved into this pointless "he said, she said" drivel.

Why has it come to this? Because it's much easier than thinking.

Iraq is an artificial entity created by the British after WWI. Lines drawn in the sand, if you will, around an area occupied by people having very different customs.

Most nations happen naturally. they evolve. The people sharing a culture have something in common which brings them together. The people of Iraq currently don't. They instead have something in common which is tearing them apart.

There are three 'tribes' there. And guess what? They're fighting one another. They're fighting one another for power. If each tribe were given its own power, then yes, it could work, much better than it is now.

Yes except for the fact that it is not an equal break down. There are majorities that would over take the minorities the minute we left. I really have no clue what is a good solution but I don't see this as something that would work. There is to much hatred between the tribes.

I believe the theory is that the Shi'ites would over take the Sunnis less eagerly if the Shi'ites had their own whole pie. And vice versa.

Right now I believe they are fighting to get the whole pie.
