I wonder what it will cost to build all the power plants needed to support them? In our recent "heat wave" the use of air conditioners was maxing out the grid and we were told not to charge cars during that time.

I bet this makes heads explode.

You have got to hand it to him, he is transforming the country.

These things should have been done around the turn of the century but as they say, better late than never.

Meantime, back at the farm, "we don't want EV vehicles" "We hate the Dems and progress!"

Yup, its gonna lead to more fossil fuel use or rolling blackouts since green energy wont be able to handle the peak load.

Why are people negative nellies when it comes to EVs?
Not negative, realistic. I am hardly negative about EV's, I am on my third one and love them all but, I also am well aware that the nation at large is not ready to support them. Here in CA we have the most EV's of any state and charging to support them, at home and stand alone chargers. That said, there is a long way to go for the nation as whole to adopt them.

Since more than a million charging stations are necessary they aren't going to get many built on that budget. Why should the owners of the charging stations not pay for them? If the market for charging stations were large enough to make them profitable, then every gas station in the country would be installing them. Let the marketplace handle this. Government will only screw it up.

Which is another fair point: we need to invest massive amounts of funding into new green and nuclear energy.

Because if we waited for private entities to get around to building them it would take much longer to get off of cars that use fossil fuels. One of the biggest reasons people have for not buying an electric vehicle is that there aren't enough charging stations between major cities to make them practical.

Democrats started to listen to scientists in the field and propose policies to prevent the worst outcomes, thus you know who is required to take the opposite position no matter how ridiculous.

They're so dug-in with the partisanship that they won't even let themselves consider the fact that even if their ludditism were legit - that is, that it's all a big conspiracy/hoax - that leading development in all things related to combating AGW means our companies would be the ones selling the products implementing what is learned, not the other way around.

Bear in mind, they'll attack Greta for taking a plane and claim that is hypocrisy that shows those who are not AGW deniers cannot be trusted. When she then takes a completely emissions-free boat ride, they attack her for putting on a stunt, then start muttering about what it takes to build a boat.

It's not about honestly held belief. It's about "owning" aka trolling and opposing the left.

Democrats and neocons love spending billions of our money on their pet projects.
Be it electric cars, climate change, Israel, oil wars, etc ....
Such a shame the media has conned Americans into rejecting Trump.

The benefits of EVs compared to gas vehicles isn't always so.
Rural communities, the south and midwest showed less carbon footprint with gas vehicles than with EVs.
Big cities and the coasts showed less carbon footprints with EVs.

One 2016 study authored by Michalek and colleagues contains maps showing that in general, "plug-in vehicles tend to reduce carbon emissions for city drivers in the Southwest, Texas and Florida, especially when compared to a typical gasoline car, whereas plug-in vehicles tend to increase carbon emissions for highway drivers in rural counties of the Great Planes, the Midwest and the South, especially when compared to gasoline hybrids, which are very efficient," he said.

The woke left don't care. The agenda is more important than the end benefit to society.

Don't expect there to be an announcement concerning where the power will come from to put these charging stations on line or to explain the costs and how much it will cost taxpayers. That will get dropped on us much later.
I will be happy when the green crowd admits that wind/solar cannot produce the power for all this green initiative. That without fossil fuel energy plants none of this stuff is possible. That's the facts that the liberals ignore.

Fact: when the country switches over to EV's conservatives will take credit for it or do whatever they can to minimize Progressive credit for it.

I'm telling you now, the best thing to do is stop voting and let the woke left have all the power.
Within a couple of years, the masses will wake up to their insanity.

Yep, Democrats.

Republicans

Both.

The faces of oil wars have been the Bushes more than anybody else.
Since we haven't taken anyones oil from any of these wars, I'd say your claim is false.

I'm not against EVs. The issue is we lack the infrastructure and technology to make this happen as suddenly as the dems are trying to force it.
