Biden lowers jobless claims

This president just can't stop winning. GOAT.
I keep asking...but nobody can answer: What did Biden do to lower jobless claims?

Do YOU have an answer?

with vaccine mandates and hostile work enviorements, I get it

It has been asked and answered a million times. Stimulus package and now the infrastructure package.
No.

The stimulus package delayed the lowering of jobless claims. And the infrastructure package hasn't done anything yet.

Besides, Biden didn't do anything regarding those except follow orders. He certainly didn't come up with either idea.

So...again...what did Biden do?

bring back stability and competence
Stability and competence? Are you joking?

Everything Biden touches turns to shit.

Inflation, supply chain, hell...foreign relations...there is ZERO stability and competence on Biden's part.

So...again...what did Biden do?

No offense.
But making matter-of-fact statements about specific cause(s) for changes in major, macroeconomic statistics shows a lack of understanding in macroeconomics.
No one thing caused the numbers to get better.
That is the ONLY thing one can be certain of.

If you want to say that the POTUS deserves some of the credit for good macroeconomic numbers?
Alright.

Just make sure you give credit to Biden when the numbers are good and bad.
Otherwise?
You are a hypocrite on this subject.
Whose opinions on it mean nothing.

Good day.

Notwithstanding inflation, once again, it is a mystery as to why so many Americans think the economy is doing badly.

ABC reports, "The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits plummeted last week to the lowest level in more than half a century, another sign that the U.S. job market is rebounding rapidly from last year's coronavirus recession."

However, there is a downside as ABC explains:

"Jobless claims dropped by 71,000 to 199,000, the lowest since mid-November 1969. But seasonal adjustments around the Thanksgiving holiday contributed significantly to the bigger-than-expected drop. Unadjusted, claims actually ticked up by more than 18,000 to nearly 259,000."

The fact remains the number of jobless claims is the lowest in over 50 years.
Americans remain unhappy with Biden. His approval number is 42%. Apparently, Americans are difficult to please.

Readers are reminded that when the economy is doing poorly, the President gets the blame, and when the economy is doing great, the President gets the credit. This is true even though Presidents historically have little impact on the economy. For example, President Hoover was not responsible for the Great Depression, and President Roosevelt was not responsible for the recovery.

Another economic fact, when the economy is doing well, there is inflation. More people with more money buying more goods inevitably causes inflation. It's the economy, stupid.

The economy is booming as is the stock market, and unemployment is at a historical low. The problem is, many Americans don't know it.

We sure would like too but it appears Biden is standing in the way.

The factually impaired won’t believe this but here it is. The economy is actually doing very well as are the markets. The recently passed infrastructure bill will put additional 100s of thousands to work.
There are still issues but we are headed in the right direction.
Legislation that helps average American families for a change.
Universal preschool for all 3- and 4-year-olds. In addition to helping millions of children prepare better for school, the benefit would enable parents of young children to return to the workforce earlier.
A child-care cost cap of 7% of income for parents earning up to 250% of a state’s median income.
Four weeks of federal paid parental, sick or caregiver leave.
A year of expanded Child Tax Credits. During the past year, these credits have raised households with more than 3 million children out of poverty and cut overall child poverty in America by 25%.
Extended pandemic-era Affordable Care Act subsidies. So far this year, these subsidies have increased ACA enrollment by more than 2 million.
New hearing benefits for Medicare beneficiaries, including coverage for a new hearing aid every five years.
A $35-per-month limit on the cost of insulin under Medicare and a cap on out-of-pocket prescription drug costs at $2,000 per year.
$500 billion to combat climate change, largely through clean energy tax credits. This represents the largest-ever federal investment in clean energy.
An increase in the State and Local Tax deduction limit from $10,000 to $80,000.

Do you mean the $1400 stimulus that was sent out in march has finally been spent after only 8 months? What a stupid post.

None of this has decreased unemployment claims last week. This is all stuff that just went into effect and we won't see any direct effect for months...if at all.

Tell me...how many reduced unemployment claims are the result of that $500 Billion for climate change? Hmmm?

Sorry...still no cigar.

The fact is, Biden has done NOTHING to reduce unemployment claims.

Nothing.

Do you mean the $1400 stimulus that was sent out in march has finally been spent after only 8 months? What a stupid post.
No. I'm talking about the extended federal unemployment payments. That has finally ended and people are now being forced to go back to work after sitting on their ass for more than a year.

No offense.

That is all true and I presume his intent, more than anything was to throw the numbers in the face of the Biden haters who predict every metric will be negative under Biden. And no doubt, had the jobless claims gone the other way, they would have attributed it directly to him. They exhibit the same hypocrisy you suggest, just in reverse.

True.

Finding someone with an open mind on American politics is like painting wheels on a cat.
Time consuming and totally useless.

Unemployment claims fell by 600,000 + since Trump left. Trump had the highest unemployment claims in 70 - 100 years Case closed. I'll take Biden any day
