locking the barn door after the horse has fled. I gota wonder just how much auditing will actually get done
Republicans like McConnell and others never even question the amount of aid -"blank check"
lawmakers agree that current monitoring efforts appear woefully inadequate, with the Biden administration inspecting just 10% of the 22,000 weapons the U.S. has provided to Ukraine between February and November 1, according to the Post.

U.S. allies in Europe have expressed hope that Republican skepticism of Ukraine aid will not lead to a widespread cutting of funding, however.
"No one in Republican leadership has called for an end to aid for Ukraine," Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, said Monday. "People on the Republican side are saying, ‘Why do we have to pass a $40 billion package to send $8 billion to Ukraine?’"

Unless I missed something, each of their links just goes back to their own site. Is there a legitimate news source for this?

It doesn't matter how much Zelensky cries for billions to pay for budget, infrastructure, government expenses and pensions of Ukrainians, no more money should be given until ever single dollar of the nearly $100 Billion already given is accounted for.

And, if they can't account for all of it, then tell Zelensky to dig into his own bank account for the money.

That's a bad faith argument because you've already made it clear in previous threads that that money shouldn't be spent anyway.

That's how "legitimate" news sources operate. The links go to more information that Fox has presented.

If that's what prevents you from reading news stories, it's no wonder you don't seem to know anything.

Not a bad faith argument. Just another reason not to send billions of dollars to a sinkhole.

It's a bad faith argument because you imply that if the money can be accounted for then it's legitimate. But since we already know that that conversation would end with you saying, "Well, we shouldn't send the money anyway," nobody need engage your argument at all.

I'm not going to engage the premise of Fox News alone. It's not news.

Ukraine is probably producing Oligarchs by the hour since February from the influx of dollars. History will remember 2022 Ukraine as the "Oligarch Incubator".

The administration, anticipating such demands as the commitment of military aid under President Biden fast approaches $20 billion, has worked in recent weeks to publicize its efforts to track weapons shipments. Both the State Department and the Pentagon have outlined plans, including more inspections and training for the Ukrainians, meant to prevent U.S. arms from falling into the wrong hands — initiatives that have failed thus far to quell Republican skeptics calling for audits and other accountability measures.

Let me guess, you are one of those people who believe that when we send $1M in military aid that it's a check... LMAO... I can see why the GQP is floating this bulllshit...

U.S. monitors have inspected just 10 percent of high-risk weapons sent to Ukraine, even as the Biden administration launches new measures to stop arms smuggling

U.S. monitors have conducted in-person inspections for only about 10 percent of the 22,000 U.S.-provided weapons sent to Ukraine that require special oversight.

Since late February’s invasion, which prompted the closing of the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv for several months, U.S. officials have been able to conduct just two in-person inspections of items requiring enhanced oversight at weapons depots where U.S. arms had been brought in from Poland.

Rachel Stohl, the vice president for research programs at the Washington-based Stimson Center, said officials also must develop longer-term plans to ensure the security of surplus U.S. weapons once the conflict with Russia ends, noting Ukraine’s history as a theater for small-arms smuggling after the Cold War.

say it aint so! the number 2 most corrupt nation in Europe would never do that!

the 20 billion is only military aid. add in another 80 billion for humanitarian/economic assistance -ripe for corruption

So if all the tracking you claim to want happens, will you approve of the aid to Ukraine?

You're thinking of what happened to the Russian military. It's why Russians don't have the equipment and spare parts they need (including food and uniforms).

We aren't sending pillows to pay for the Ukrainian budget.

I don't think you care if Ukraine is corrupt or not.

Because if Russia is allowed to conquer Ukraine then Ukraine will become more corrupt than it is.

You just want to use this issue of corruption to smear Ukraine and undermine support for Ukraine. It's not going to work.

It's appropriate to monitor shipments of arms to Ukraine. There is nothing wrong with this.

Ukraine is probably producing Oligarchs by the hour since February from the influx of dollars. History will remember 2022 Ukraine as the "Oligarch Incubator".

If you cared about Ukraine producing Oligarchs you would criticize Russia for its oligarchs.

None of you care about corruption in Ukraine.

None of you care about oligarchs in Ukraine.

All of your criticisms really boil down to an attempt to smear Ukraine in order to undermine support for Ukraine.

Republicans will not abandon Ukraine.

The isolationist, Western-hating, NATO-hating faction of the Republican party is an insignificant, pathetic, contempt-worthy, weak, feckless minority of the party.

It is appropriate to monitor military aid to Ukraine especially since the situation has stabilized. The Biden administration will take the comments into account and boost efforts to monitor the military aid. It will do so while also acknowledging the Republicans are angling for political advantage.

who the hell are you to tell me what i think? One thing I like about JPP is called "threadban" feature
OP can ban those with nothing to say but ad homs
I care because the EU should be leading the way, and we should have had accountability $100 billion ago=
at minimum
so now you know what I "think"

anotehr one who tells me what i'm "thinking" read my post it speaks for itself -Ukraine almost as corrupt as Russia

You're simply highlighting why Russia is losing. Nobody would want to live under a dictatorship more corrupt than themselves.

I won't approve of any of it -not our war. But i would be a lot happier if we could at least see we aren't just enriching a bunch of
corrupt officials
