During the meeting at Camp David – which included the president’s wife, children and grandchildren – Biden’s family told him he could still show Americans that he is capable of serving another four years, according to the New York Times.


While his family was reportedly aware of how poorly he performed, they also continue to think he’s the best person to beat Donald Trump.

The Associated Press reported that the strongest voices imploring Biden to resist pressure to drop out were his wife, Jill, and his son Hunter, who last month became the first child of a sitting president to be convicted of a felony after a jury found him guilty of lying about illegal drug use when he bought a handgun in 2018.

The Camp David trip had been previously scheduled, in order to accommodate a photoshoot with Annie Leibovitz for the upcoming Democratic National Convention.

The president’s relatives were also said to be critical of the way his closest advisers had prepared him for the debate.
On Sunday, a narrative blaming the rigorous debate prep calendar which saw Biden sequestered at Camp David for six days, began to build.

Very disappointing OP. We typically expect MAGA to demonize the leftist filth by referring to them as "handlers" or "pukes" but you instead chose to call them "advisors." This is extremely weak MAGA and suggests an inability to thoroughly own the leftist filth by implying that Joe receives advice but makes his own decisions. Don Jr. and Lara expect better of their cannon fodder.

Fair point, it was not you but the mainstream conservative media that opted for the term advisors over handlers and pukes. Obviously, your MAGA is much stronger than the mainstream conservative media so you would not have made such a mistake. My apologies.

Why do you suppose the mainstream conservative media failed to properly denigrate the leftists by forgetting to invoke the Handlers and Pukes? Further, how do you explain your own culpability in posting such crap? Might this represent a faltering in the Trump Devotion Syndrome permeating MAGA?

I doubt if many members of the Biden cult do in fact realise that 'Dr Jill Biden' has no medical qualification of any sort? It would seem that quite a lot know very little about anything whatsoever.

What else were they suppose to say to the press? Were they suppose to say no, we told him he's going to lose and get out? Can you imagine the chaos that would cause? I still think the Dems are in the process of a logical discussion on how, or if, to transition to a new candidate , who that might be , how it would be handled and announced, etc. This is a big damn deal and no time to be clutching pearls and crying that the sky is falling.....remember he still is the president and CiC and they cannot afford to allow this to collapse in utter chaos. I still remain of the opinion that Biden will make some sort of announcement from the Oval Office on what the future holds for him and the Democratic nomination soon after July 4th. will he stay or will he go???? That I really have no idea about. In my opinion he should go but the DNC hasn't called me to those meetings yet !
 
His wife and family are enjoying the life of a First Lady and First family way too much to even consider telling him to drop out.
It's like asking someone if they'd like to stay in a life where they live at the highest standard in the world, can go anywhere, get the finest food 24x7, etc... all for free, for the next four years... or would you just like to give that up?
 
I'm sure there is more of a downside than an upside when your family is in a fish bowl and the press pries into all your personnel lives and smears and bad mouths you non stop...beats dinner out!
 
This is just inhumane.
It sounds like everyone is afraid to stand up to Jill.
I just can't imagine being a child, a grandchild, or anybody who truly cares about Joe, wanting to allow this to continue.
Possibly the plan is to hand over the reins at the convention but please don't let Joe go through another debate.
 
none of us really has any idea what is going on inside the family and behind closed doors...they are vary tight and private family.

He's been in politics for 50 years, that's always been the case. As POTUS, he has an immensely better lifestyle than a Senator, not even close. Especially for Jill.

Maybe ask Melania how much she loved being First Lady. With privileges like being the First Lady comes pain and sacrifice.

I'm sure you know this, not all people are the same. Melania appears to be introverted. Some people, as it seems Jill is, love the limelight.
The exact details of any decision are hard to discern but Jill is the closest to the President and the most vocally supportive.
Like him or not Biden has an effective and mostly dignified history. All of this is close to being thrown out the window to be remembered in a negative way.
I understand the intent to block the new-wave progressives from moving up higher in the federal government but it will happen with Joe or without him.
The Magas have already arrived, let the war of irrationalism begin I guess.
