Keep in mind this is the same liberally biased poll that had Biden leading Trump by 11 points in Wisconsin right before the election so no telling how low Biden's numbers truly are. Not very good for a president who promised things were going to get better if he was elected.

Personally, I miss the mean tweets and $2 gas.

NYTimes/Siena poll

Most Democrats Don’t Want Biden in 2024, New Poll Shows

With the country gripped by a pervasive sense of pessimism, the president is hemorrhaging support.

Not good when 64% of your own party think you shouldn’t run. Here’s a link to the Guardian coverage of this story for those who don’t have subscriptions to the NYT.

“Joe Biden’s approval rating has been struggling mightily for a year and the US president’s popularity is now shockingly low even among his own supporters across America, with 64% of Democratic voters saying they want someone else to be the party’s presidential nominee in the 2024 election, according to a new opinion poll carried out by the New York Times and Siena College and published by the newspaper this morning.”

I saw this new poll out this morning and it's factoring into Biden's average (now at 37.4!) and going lower by the day. Also, check out the "direction of country" - DANG! Direction of country is now in territory we haven't seen in well over a decade.

Low popularity means...what? He can't be replaced until 2025. Unless you want Kamala.

One thing if often means is this. We'll soon see how or if this plays out.

"This is important. Although the presidential election isn’t for another 2½ years, the midterm elections are fast approaching. In our increasingly polarized and nationalized politics, the single most determinative factor in midterm outcomes is the president’s job approval."

Probably true more often than not. SCOTUS threw a monkey wrench into the works with some of their recent decisions however.

Maybe. The Dems will certainly run on abortion as a primary topic. The Reps will run on the economy/inflation and the border as primary topics. We'll see where the voters land.

The lower Biden goes, the better for the Democrats--just as is the case for Trump. Both parties need to find fresh, new blood, and the more Biden and Trump fall in polling, the easier it will be for the respective parties to find and elevate it. As far as I can tell, Democrats' policy positions - from abortion to lower drug prices to social safety nets - are all broadly popular so the issue here seems to be the elderly dude carrying the flag, and not the flag itself.

Biden did what those who elected him wanted him to do: kick Trump to the curb. His focus now should be on (a) centrist policy for the good of the nation and (b) elevating a new generation of leaders for the good of his party.

I mean, we had cheap gas during a pandemic when no one was traveling, lol. So I guess what you miss is shutdown economies and massive disease outbreak.

But Biden was never going to be a good President, he just happens to be better than Trump.

We didn't have a pandemic in 2019. Gas was $2.25. Do you even question the garbage they tell you to post, at all?

There was no demand because....dun dun dunnnnnn, Covid pandemic killed everything.

lol

Good gracious, your posts are the hallmark of Trump-worshipping trash.

Republicans are going to run on investigating Biden and his son, and Hillary, and Pelosi and Schiff and Fauci.

Republicans have no answer on how to turn the economy around.

It possibly means who controls the Senate and House.
Which means what? They block Biden's agenda and forward none of their own?

(IOW, what we already have with Manchin and Sinema)

People will likely remember that the last guy was also president before the pandemic. In February 2017 the average gas price was $2.41. By January 2020, just before the pandemic started, it was $2.63. In February 2021 when Biden took office the price was $2.58 and it currently sits at about $4.67.
Now, do I think the president sets the price of gas? Absolutely not. Do I think presidents get blamed for gas prices? Absolutely.

2019, no COVID, $2.25. Has your god's dementia infected all his worshipers? Frightening.

It was 2 bucks during the pandemic, you're the only one trying to say it wasn't.

Hell no. the are going to run on the abject failures of the Democrats. And when they take the majorities ... Karma's a bitch. Too bad DEmocrats didn't think about that when they were being such assholes with the power they had.

But no one is running for President in 2022.

Many in the GQP are running on "I'm Trump's mini me." But they have no solutions, except banning gays and books and discussion about slavery. They want to investigate every Democrat just for revenge.

And Democrats just sit back, playing switch'em.

You are being extremely misleading. I have to ask: are you aware that Donald Trump was president of the United States for about three years BEFORE the pandemic started?

Mid-terms are typically seen as a report card on the sitting president.

So no solutions? Just pointing out what they believe are failures? It'll win them the majority, and then we get 2 years of ignoring Americans. Very good. I'm so glad we are heading in the right direction

Remind us of Trump's 'approval' rating when he lost the election. Actually I'll save you the effort...
