Chopnblok

West African joint in Houston, Texas. Absolutely amazing food. And it is reasonably priced. Not some pretentious drizzle restaurant.

Typical Friday meal : Cheeseburger and fries with a diet coke. Probably a mixed vodka drink after dinner.

If it's Lent, substitute a fried fish sandwich.

Ruth's Chris Bone-in Rib Eye with Shoestring Potatoes.
Longhorn's Chicken Parmesan with sides of Roasted Brussel Sprouts and a Strawberry Pecan Salad.

2 places on the river that have great catfish fritters and fries. And I'm not generally a fan of catfish. One is more expensive, but has a close place to tie up a boat if I'm already on the river.

Gazpacho. Slowly cooked mojo lechon. Black beans with Spanish chorizo. Saffron rice. Tostones. Flan.

Good Czech Pils.
