That makes no sense, the other claimants have no such things to point at. Also, Taiwan claims all of the Spratly's, which means that they aren't just stepping on China's title, but the claims of Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei and the Philippines, which for some seem to be no problem whatsoever.

I read today that China is spending at least one trillion dollars (American) creating a new "Silk Road" through Western China. This will bring modern conveniences, like tap water, to over 600 million people in that part of the country, which is mostly rural. They are providing construction jobs, so they hope to bring prosperity to a very poor area, and it is anticipated that many little towns will spring up along the road to provide places for travelers to eat and sleep. :thumbs:

Sure China is enriched and sure the companies that outsource are enriched.But the people who lost their jobs to outsourcing and have to take a lesser paying job are not enriched. Should China as a result of being enriched because of companies outsourcing to China become our enemy then we as a whole nation will not be enriched.By establishing normal trade relations with China we enriched ourselves as well.

The islands, islets, reefs, are in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines which is why the Phils in 2013 took the case to the UN Tribunal on the International Law of the Sea. The UN Tribunal however has heard only the Phils side of the case as Beijing won't show up to argue its case, nor is it ever going to appear before the Tribunal, despite Beijing signing the ILOS treaty. The UN Tribunal is going to have to rule against Beijing on this.

There isn't going to be a war. It will be a low level intensity use of military resources. Already the Boyz in Beijing have unsuccessfully tried to take down Global Hawk drones operating over the islands and the construction areas. The Pentagon sent last week a new high tech littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth through the area which caused a commotion in Beijing and ignited a cat and mouse contest between the two Navies and Air Forces.
This could look like the beginning of Cold War II.
Actually, if a full-scale war were to break out between the US and China today, China would be comprehensively defeated because the US could very easily shut off all its imports and exports thereby completely crashing the Chinese economy.

Four years ago Obama made a speech in Australia that was directed straight at Beijing, so stern was it, that some Australian politicians were incensed by it because of the trade status between the two nations, they didn't appreciate the American president attacking China so from their country.
