Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South China

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

Lucky for us you're here to settle all that.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

the US would not win. in a modern nuclear war between superpowers, everyone loses.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know you were referring to a nuclear war, in which case, yes I agree with you.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

The same way it has run since 1949. Chinese military industry is command driven, as is military industry in Russia.

the seems nearly hopeless.

what funds the Chinese government?

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

Which you seem to see everywhere.

Another ridiculous statement. Just because my focus is on the failed policies, with an interest in improvement, doesn't mean I think that all USFP is a failure.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

Howdy Polgara. I wish we'd get back to far sighted infrastructure improvements like we use to. At present, our infrastructure is a "D" grade

I have never seen you post anything like that.

We're just here for the debate Jack, we settle nothing. That's for China to do.

Which part?

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

The islands, islets, reefs, are in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines which is why the Phils in 2013 took the case to the UN Tribunal on the International Law of the Sea. The UN Tribunal however has heard only the Phils side of the case as Beijing won't show up to argue its case, nor is it ever going to appear before the Tribunal, despite Beijing signing the ILOS treaty. The UN Tribunal is going to have to rule against Beijing on this.

The CCP Boyz in Beijing don't care what the UN or its ILOS Tribunal say or what anyone says or thinks, they're taking over the islands and the SCS no matter what. Or so the CCP Boyz think...

There isn't going to be a war. It will be a low level intensity use of military resources. Already the Boyz in Beijing have unsuccessfully tried to take down Global Hawk drones operating over the islands and the construction areas. The Pentagon sent last week a new high tech littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth through the area which caused a commotion in Beijing and ignited a cat and mouse contest between the two Navies and Air Forces.

This could look like the beginning of Cold War II.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

There are many trading partners and China was going to become wealthy as soon as they freed up their economy, no matter what we did.

So there are a **** load of Russian,Korean, British and other companies outsourcing to China? These trade deals happen to encourage companies to outsource, not because they were already outsourcing.

The Economist predicted that thirty years ago.

Most economists exist to suck the dicks of big business. As long as it favors big business they favor it.

By establishing normal trade relations with China we enriched ourselves as well.
Sure China is enriched and sure the companies that outsource are enriched. But the people who lost their jobs to outsourcing and have to take a lesser paying job are not enriched. Should China as a result of being enriched because of companies outsourcing to China become our enemy then we as a whole nation will not be enriched.

And btw, economic development has indeed lifted hundreds of millions of Chinese out of poverty.
I am a patriotic American, not a **** sucking piece of **** globalist. So I do not want Chinese lifting themselves out of poverty at the expense of Americans.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

Command economy.

and what do the Chinese do to, you know, like, make money?

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

there's not going to be a war with China, because neither side would win.

Actually, if a full-scale war were to break out between the US and China today, China would be comprehensively defeated because the US could very easily shut off all its imports and exports thereby completely crashing the Chinese economy.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

Cold War II you say. Who'd a thunk it. Initiate some bellicose foreign policy comments and make ridiculous demands upon Russia and China and pretty soon we got the old Cold War Fear, like Drug War fear, and Terror War fear, and Fear for the sake of Military Industrial Corporate profits. There's gonna' be some money made here, don't ya' know? The Pentagon narrative will get top billing in the USA Media as if it's the God's honest truth. Noone will say that the Military Industrial Complex is pushing a new marketing agenda to create demand for more and bigger weapons, and they're gonna be very expensive. Hot dam, Mon, and we got new boogie man created for the Media stenographers. Be afraid, be very afraid, the boogie man gonna get ya'. Vote for Lindsey Graham and get lots more wars or war noises and more war contracts. Don't ya' just love Corporatism in the USA. "War is good business and a Cold War is big business."

cool. as we sift through destroyed cities hoping to find a can of food, we can all slap each other on the back and shout "we won!"

**** that, **** war, and **** dick measuring contests over islands that most of us didn't even realize existed.

You simply have no clue what you are talking about.

incorrect. a full scale war with China would be utterly disastrous for the US, for China, and for most of the rest of the world. do you think Russia is just going to sit on its hands and sip vodka through a straw? do you think Europe will remain idle as we lob nukes at each other? man, you hawks really don't think these things through, do you?

if anyone has no idea what he is talking about, it's you.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

They own the islands, why can't they build military installations on them.

They claimed the islands and are making more.
And beginning to interfere with travel & commerce.
That's the difference.

Tell me ... If Trump found some shallow waters, say 12 miles off the coast of China, where he could dredge up some ocean floor and make himself an island and then let someone build a military installation on it & chased everyone away claiming it's own 12 mile, or more, territorial limits, would China be upset? Would you?

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

Good luck in Hawaii and along the west coast. I'll send non-irradiated canned food as soon as cross country shipping is restored. The horses have already advised me that they aren't available for that enterprise. Seems they've unionized behind my back because the pasture is lush. We'll see how that holds up next winter.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

Greetings, humbolt. :2wave:

"Whinnying" is close enough in sound to "whining" to be generally accepted, so be open-minded in your union negotiations, but watch body language...that will be critical when you get to the "sweet feed" subsection. It's the little things that cause the biggest problems! :lamo:

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

Guam was settled many decades ago. That do not justify China or any other country taking territory by whatever means from another.
You are using what happened in the US past history to justify China's today.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

They always show up for that. And I boost the protein and other stuff during the winter, and all I get are them looking at each other and claiming it's the SOS. I'm under-appreciated. This will come up next fall. Assuming, of course, that we all aren't annihilated before then.

Unlike some here, I don't see WWIII looming over this. Whatever China seeks to gain, they seem to be losing on the other end as the Philippines are seriously considering inviting our navy back to Subic Bay.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

Neither has Chinese statements helped either- mouthpiece news outlets, speaking for the Govt have stated war can be possible.
As to the Philippines, same with India aligning with the US. Why is that alignment taking place? China and past wars with India, territorial grabs.
China has base rights for a seaport in Pakistan. How it that any different from the US?
Same as their plan to have naval base rights in Sri Lanka. Right by India.
With the SC Seas and Sri Lanka they could have 2 choke points.

Re: Beijing warns US: 'We will fight back' as battle of words escalates over South Ch

Is it the oil and gas under the South China sea, or the shipping lanes they're most interested in? Both could be, I guess, but both would require international discussions. Who "owns" the Suez Canal?
