Bastardizing Words : "The Truth"

The absolute and definitive arrogance of taking a word like "truth", and bastardizing it to the point of being a passive-aggressive insult when used in specific religious context is truly pathetic.

Truth does not equal Faith/Belief.
Regardless of how strong your faith/belief is, there's absolutely no guarantee there's any truth to it.
It's even weird to use "truth" in that context.

The sad thing is the people who throw this idiocy around also believe they have moral/intellectual superiority, when the reality is they fail HARD to see the irony in their words.

Stop using "the truth" when in reality you can only mean "my faith". They are not synonymous.

Every single person with religious faith believes theirs is "the truth", so by definition there is no "truth" in that context because everyone can't be right, and there's no way to prove who's wrong.

So unless you desire to come across and an arrogant hypocrite, stop using the phrase "the truth" when describing your own personal religious belief.

No.
If every single person with religious faith believes theirs is "the truth", that means, they can't all be the truth. It doesn't eliminate THE TRUTH.
Just because you can't prove who's wrong, doesn't eliminate THE TRUTH, either.

It just means you can't prove it.
And we can REASONABLY ask you......................... why can't you?

There can be all sorts of reasons as to why you can't prove it.
For all we know................... the problem lies with you.
 
Perhaps a better way of expressing it would be to say: "The truth, as I understand it . . . ."

Although, I think your point is well made I think there's a thin line whereby you're confusing "truth" with "facts". Facts can change, but truth, as I understand it will never change. At one time it might have been a fact that the earth (land) was gathered into one place, but with the environmental changes the seas separated the earth into continents. So it's (one land mass) no longer a fact.

Why shouldn't Christians use the phrase "the Truth" when describing the Christian belief?
After all, Jesus Christ had described Himself as "I am The Truth....The Way.......and The Life!"
All Christian denominations are agreed on that.
That's one Truth, we have in common.
 
What are some Truths "All Christian denominations" do 'NOT' "have in common"?
