Yes, “rocks” from “outer space” can enter the atmosphere, but once they either burn up or land, they become part of the closed system of Earth and there is no further interaction of that substance outside of the atmosphere of Earth. But you don’t have to believe me. See what NASA says about it in post #39. In addition, if you do some research, you will find the statement that “Earth is a closed system (for matter)” all over the place. That is how scientists who study the various aspects of the Earth consider it. The elements of the “air” and atmosphere that surround the Earth effectively cut it off from space as regards matter, except for extremely minor amounts of “escape” of tiny bits of matter, and that is how scientists approach it.
That is a bizarre redefinition of the word "Closed" Ongoing entrances and exits, but still closed....
