“My March 24 letter was not, and did not purport to be, an exhaustive recounting of the Special Counsel’s investigation or report,” Barr wrote. “As my letter made clear, my notification to Congress and the public provided, pending release of the report, a summary of its “principal conclusions” — that is, its bottom line. The Special Counsel’s report is nearly 400 pages long (exclusive of tables and appendices) and sets forth the Special Counsel’s findings, his analysis, and the reasons for his conclusions. . . . I do not believe it would be in the public’s interest for me to attempt to summarize the full report or to release it in serial or piecemeal fashion.”

Attorney General William Barr Changes Tune on His Letter, Says It's Not a Summary of Mueller Report

So disregard my first letter...

I already did...but the press is still walking around saying "No collusion".

Let's see the full report first

And further

“Everyone will soon be able to read it on their own,” Barr wrote. Barr’s new letter lays out a timeline for the next steps of the hotly-debated process by which Justice Department officials are sharing the nearly 400-page report. In the letter, Barr said he does not plan to submit the report to the White House for review. "Although the president would have the right to assert privilege over certain parts of the report, he has stated publicly that he intends to defer to me and, accordingly, there are no plans to submit the report to the White House for a privilege review.”

Wrong Mr. Barr. And as a former AG and current AG you KNOW it doesn't work that way.

Executive privilege has to be claimed by the President and he has to do it formerly...so that it can be challenged in court.

Trump admin have tried to pull this before by referring to executive privilege that no one ever actually claimed.

That's just stone walling.

Also...you are NOT the President's lawyer. That would be the White House Counsel...not you

I don't see any "disregard my first letter" in this. He's just trying to calm down the wackodoodle lefties that are coming unglued trying to divine the entire content of Mueller's report from his four-page letter.

To me, so far at least, Mr. Barr seems to be acting in a responsible and considered manner.

I believe he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

If when the Report is released to Congress, 390 of the 400 pages are redacted, then I may rethink my stance. :)

I am sure there will be some redactions that we will wish were not there. In my opinion he is being open and straight forward, and I have no reason to think he will not continue to do so.

There is a reason Barr is hiding it from the public and he will fail at it in the end. That is why Trump is changing the subject so quick.

LOL, sure, fine. Whatever you say. Wanna take a break to unwad your panties?

Sorry, but you are NOT going to see the full report.

Get over it.

~ HUH ? "The great Russian hoax. The witch hunt is over." It's about all Trump talked about at his most recent rally.

It's a strange walking back of his first letter, and if I was a lawyer I would probably understand the significance of this shift better.

In any case, he's fully aware that the House would win any fight to get a hold of the full, unredacted report. This is nothing more than a stalling tactic.

What makes you think Trump is going to claim executive privilege?

Reading is fundamental

~ Not to worry. Adam Schiff says he has evidence of Trump/ Russia conspiracy. It should be in the Mueller report.

If Schiffty's evidence is NOT in the Mueller report, then Schiffty needs to be charged with obstruction of justice.

I don't see him mentioning who he's trying to calm down. And keep in mind (regardless of your previous claims that most people were satisfied with his summary) 3/4's of the country feels the report needs to be seen, including 54% of Republicans.

Can you read?

Barr thinks he can do it for him

How do you figure that? Barr is pretty clear: he says Trump would have the right to review for executive privilege, Trump said none will be exercised, so Barr will not submit the report to the White House for a review.

Yeah...I can read. Can you?

Great. We need to see it. He ticked off a lot of evidence. We need to see what else Mueller found

Yeah...I can read. Can you?

What part of...Barr can't legally do that..

Did you miss?

That's an incredibly stupid statement

LOL, read it again. He's clarifying what the letter comprises. People were treating it like a comprehensive summary of the entire Mueller report.

So what? My point was, that most people would not read it, not that they don't want it "seen".

Can't legally do what? Take Trump's word that he's not going to claim executive privilege? Why not?

Which supports what I said. He's not claiming the letter is a comprehensive report, and he's correcting those who are trying to claim it is.
