Bad news beef lovers, prices will continue to rise in part due to Trump's tariffs

As if the sky high cost of beef isn't enough to swear off red meat (I rarely eat it anymore), there doesn't seem to be any relief in site. In fact, due to shrinking herds in the US and Trump's tariffs, the price of beef will (most likely) continue to rise.

Maybe it's time to reconsider that lab grown meat?

The price of my preferred rib-eye steak has gone from $11.99/Lb to $15.99/Lb since the beginning of the year. It's rare I buy any beef products anymore.
 
I gave up meat for Lent, then I gave it up for the sake of my pocketbook
 
Lol, my birthday is tomorrow so my daughter is cooking steak for me. I haven't had steak in months.

Don it like Chick-fil-a, "Eat More Chicken".
The thing is, prices will rise and will fall just as always. The democrats will continue to be alarmist, fear mongers, and race baiters as always. So I guess nothing really changes.
 
We get burgers as a treat. Looks like the price is going up again.
 
Consuming less (or better yet no) red meat would solve a lot of health problems in America.

As an FYI, there are cattle companies that market and sell their own beef, eliminating the middle man. You can easily do a search and order whatever you want. Many of those cattle companies also have specials which, imo, are great value.

We get most of our meats from local farmers at our local deli. Our prices are very reasonable and do not reflect the high prices many of you are reporting. However, we have also ordered several times from Omaha Steaks Company. If you look at some of these specials, the prices are reasonable.

I buy beef from a farm. 1/8th of a cow once a year.

Those prices will be going up, too. It's the lack of supply causing price hikes. Removing the tariffs would allow imports. We're stuck with low herd numbers, so no relief is in sight.
