Author writing about Palin moves next door to her

How much you want to bet this isn't a lefty setup to get Palin to do something out of line? This isn't really about writing a book.

this fellow agrees with your position

let's see if i can translate this
the writer is not expected to locate himself within close proximity of his subject
that is especially true if the writer is not expected to write a puff piece about the subject
and residing in an adjoing property is dickish, and intimidating and harrassing toward his subject

somebody pines for the former soviet union to insist on imposing such restrictions on one's travel

Yeah, I read it. Still didn't answer my question. Why choose THAT house if not to spy on them?

look at what has happened thus far
caribou barbie's response to his tenancy has already given him material for the first chapter of the book
as a writer, he should want to be close to his subject
he should want to be able to observe them, coming and going
that's how he will gather the material for his book
as well as inviting people palin has pissed off around wasilla. those interviewees may be very delighted to allow palin to see them visiting with the author
his decision to move next door was a very wise PR move
look at how many folks will now be insterested in a book they would likely have not known about but for this brouhaha*

*apologies to firesign theatre

Partisan anything coming from you is rather rich.
It's not exactly new territory for you either.

So, you automatically assume he's lying, right?
Isn't that what you call "rich"?

Don't you think if he had ever done anything that the Barbies are whining about that that would have been reported on by now? Did you bother to look for any such behavior from this guy before you jumped to the conclusion that he will act a certain way? And you call me partisan? Seriously?

Common sense? R U joking? You try to come off as being "fair minded" and use assumptions as "common sense"?

The only people I see "foaming at the mouth" are people like you posting that this guy has criminal intentions yet,
none of you have provided one bit of evidence to support such an asine assumption.

If you have another logical, realistic reason to put forth as to why he'd purposefully choose to reside next door to the woman he's writing the book about other than those two above, I'd love to hear it.
And what would make me think you would look at any other "logical" reasons when you've gone out of your way to intentionally ignore any and all logical reasons to NOT crucify this guy?

Again, read the articles linked to in this very thread and see what this guy has said. (The house was offered to him and the owner made him promise to respect Palin's privacy.) Then, and only then, will I listen to your "assumptions" or "common sense" about this guy's intentions.

I'll type this slowly so it doesn't get missed.

The... house... was... offered... to... him.

Do you get it now? He did not "choose" that house.

I don't even think he was "looking" for anything in Wasilla, or even Alaska, when the owner offered this house to him. And what good journalist would turn down such an offer? Let's be real here and get off the Palin hysterical tour.

seems the air must be very thin, way up their on their high horse

the writer has done nothing wrong and yet caribou barbie has become the victim

welcome to the united states of the offended

Yes, he did choose it when he chose to move in. If he had no intention of spying on his subject (and I don't give a flying **** who it was), then he need not have moved in next door to his subject. If anything, it would HINDER his "investigation" because now his "subject" is aware of his presence and will modify her behavior accordingly.

What good journalist would turn down the offer? Any journalist not interested in spying on his/her subject. Any journalist not interested in being an asswipe.

Would it matter to you if the owner contacted the author to offer the house to him to rent? The author did not seek out a house close to Palin.

Does this man not have the right to rent any house he wants to?

Bull****.

You have no way of convincing me otherwise.

If you live close enough to your neighbors that they can see into your house, you really shouldn't be demanding privacy.

Thats what his Binoculars are for.

Of course he has the "right". He has done nothing wrong, legally. That doesn't mean he isn't a dick.

So, now we have the dick right next door to the twat.

The world is in harmony again.

I have a distaste for people who move into the suburbs for privacy. You're still living next door to somebody. What privacy is there?

:rofl

Are you seroius? The person not being nice and civil is AKR, not Deuce.

Well calling someone a dick is pretty wrong and am pretty sure a rule breaker. Maybe not. Whatever.

Please never, ever post in this color again. OMG I am gonna have to go take a pain pill. My eyes and head. That is awful

Because he wanted to and that is his right. I find it creepy but writers can be quirky and maybe him moving next door was a way to cure some form of writers block and maybe he feels being that close will make him even more creative. It is not unsual for writers to go to certain places to write.
