Australian special forces troops will be deployed in Iraq to assist in the fight against Islamic State militants, Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Friday, and its aircraft will also join U.S.-led coalition strikes. Abbott said in a nationally televised news conference the Australian troops would be engaged in an "advise and assist" capacity to support the Iraqi army in their battle against the militant Islamist group.

"Today, cabinet has authorized Australian air strikes in Iraq at the request of the Iraqi Government and in support of the Iraqi government," Abbott said. "Also, subject to final legal documentation, cabinet has authorized the deployment of Australian special forces into Iraq to advise and assist Iraqi forces.".....snip~

So long as the Australians adhere to these rules I love them:

#1 No indirect assistance to anyone in that region in the form of supplying or training.

#2 Pure destruction, no nation building or anything.

They will have troops on the Ground. Yesterday and Sunday, we sent in the US Army with Apache helicopters. It's time to do some damage to these Cowards.

It's not that Arab forces are incompetent, rather, they sympathize with ISIS.

No one can be trusted in the ME.

Destroy ISIS, destroy all weaponry in Iraq, force them to go bankrupt if they want weapons ever again.

I would disagree.....while they do sympathize. They are incompetent and that's why there has been no finality to their sectarian divide. Which they have shown for a good 3000 years. Always some excuse or another.

True, then in that case it means they are both, even worse...

Receive the ultra rare luftwaffe like for your analysis.

Thanks.....I didn't think the Aussies would be the first in on the ground. But they do know how to hunt.

Well, I did think some would be happy to see the Aussies being the first to send in boots on the ground.....maybe we should have them divert to Kobane and help the Kurds kick some Terrorist ass. I wonder if the Aussies will be sending in any Attack helicopters.

We sent in the Apaches Sunday and Monday.....which we should have sent up to Kobane too.

If we are using AH-64 Apache's, we must have boots on the ground close by wouldn't you say ?
