At least 27 killed in Tunisian beach attack.

If any of the victims were foreigners I am surprised there were still tourists coming over there. There was a previous attack in the museums over there if I recall and tourists were still going there?

He might not of needed an incredible amount of ammunition.

The number of dead and the high fatality to wounded ratio indicates rapid fire, but also controlled and accurate fire (or perhaps just trapped victims?). Amateurs with an automatic weapon tend to "spray and pray" and then fumble with the reload. This terrorist does not seem like a "B" team amateur at all. My guess is that he practiced the attack again and again, maybe even with a simulated beach,.

Another shooter was arrested, it wasn't a lone wolf.

what is actually depressing about this "islamophobia" is that another spike in hate crimes/violent assaults against muslim minorities is likely to be expected after every terrorist attack now. The two extremes feed off of each other

I live near Dearborn, Mi, which has a huge Arab population (maybe largest in US) and don't recall ever hearing backlash against them following a terror attack.

Do you really have to go there in this thread?

This is a horrifc event and my thoughts go out to the victims and their families.

Why not? This same guy certainly did "go there" after the charleston shooting, he "goes there" everytime a thread invvong a firearm in any way is posted, did you expect any different?

An event like this wouldn't happen in the states anyway, the FBI would break up a conspiracy this large before it started and even if they didn't our police officers are properly equipped with AR-15s in the patrol cars and have rapid SWAT back up on standby.

It's perfectly appropriate here to discuss competence of the authorities

There may not be an organized backlash, but there is violence at times, there was the Sihk gas station owner who was shot and killed in Arizona after 9/11 by a guy who said he was going to kill ragheads

Do you have any data to support your "spike in hate crimes / violent assaults" claim?

The Southern Poverty Law Center has tons of data

The SPLC also received an 'F' rating by the American Institute of Philantropy:

In 2005 the Center received the lowest rating from the American Institute of Philanthropy (August 2005, AIP Charity Rating Guide & Watchdog Report, Vol. No. 40, p. 18). The Institute dropped SPLC’s rating from a “C” to an “F” in the category of “Charities with Large Asset Reserves.”

Center for Immigration Truth - SPLC - Follow the Money - SPLC - Fiscal Irresponsibility - the truth about the subversive La Raza open borders special interest network - immigration reform amnesty truth

It seems that hyping threats, then asking for more cash from the gullible is one of their specialties.

Doesn't mean the data is not correct.

The 2002 Bali Bombings killed 202 people (88 of those people were Australians).

More than 600,000 Australians visited bali last year. Being fearful that something may happen and then changing your plans based on that means the Terrorists win. It will be a cold day in hell before I (and many others I know) will allow that to happen and live my life like that.

Depends on where in the states. If it happened in say, Texas, the terrorist wouldn't be able to open his umbrella before getting shot :lamo

You see a lot of that 'backlash', do you?

I'd seriously doubt that. Texans are far too busy shooting each other with 64% of all their homicides involving use of a firearm

These mass murders simply do not happen in other civilized Nations* whisper as often*

Hear what you want to hear America.

Yeh mate really bad day. Kobane, France, Kuwait and this.

You're forgetting China. The Chinese Muslim Ulighers went on their own killing spree:
