Why is Hegseth - and others - so afraid of women in positions of command over men? Two photos flipped over on a wall and that is the reason for suspending (firing) a base's commander? One pic shows the photos flipped and then another one shows the photos back in place. What is the connection with the commander? How long were the photos flipped? No answers so far.

Army suspends Wisconsin training base’s first female commander

The U.S. Army has suspended a Wisconsin training base’s first female commander after discovering portraits of President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had been flipped around to face a wall.

The Army has posted an undated statement on Fort McCoy’s website saying Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez has been suspended as the base’s garrison commander. The statement said the suspension isn’t related to any misconduct but provided no other details, saying the matter was under review.

The Department of Defense on April 14 posted photos on X showing portraits of Trump and Hegseth on the base’s chain of command wall had been turned to face the wall, along with photos showing that they had been flipped back to face the corridor.

“Regarding the Ft. McCoy Chain of Command wall controversy ... WE FIXED IT!” the post read. “Also, an investigation has begun to figure out exactly what happened. ”

No response to AP's questions at this time.

Not much of a response from the CO of the base

STATEMENT FROM FORT MCCOY SENIOR COMMANDER: Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez has been suspended as Garrison Commander at Fort McCoy. This suspension is not related to any misconduct. We have no further details to provide at this time while this matter is under review.

I imagine the thought process being followed here is:

1. Identify any infraction on a base - no matter how minor.

2. Identify the highest ranked female working at that base.

3. Dismiss her.

4. Go back to Step 1 for the next base.

So then it's simple discrimination against females.

Got it.

When petty insecure little boys with manhood issues are put in charge.

What are you folks saying here? That the UCMJ’s prohibition on political activities - which this infraction clearly is - shouldn’t apply to a commanding officer if they’re a woman?

Don't you think that there should be a statement that the officer had either flipped the photos herself or that she had told a subordinate to do it? At this time, we don't know if it wasn't some pissed-off PFC walking thru the hallway who flipped the photos and that they were immediately turned back by another soldier within a few minutes.

Why have due process when it is so much easier to get rid of so-called underables by flipping some portraits and taking a picture. I wonder if her deputy did it to get her job?

*shakes head at the implosion that is the US.

Rather than misogynism being responsible for Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez's "suspension" from command, perhaps all this virulent attention highlighted the officer's deficiencies in other areas. That might include weight standards for her age and height. Or, maybe the idea is to take her out from the center of attention until idiocy like the following stops:

There is no evidence suggesting that Baez Ramirez was involved in the flipping of the portraits. It's also unclear who took the photo showing the chain of command board that drew so much attention.

Nonetheless, she became the focus of intense scrutiny online, much of it targeting her gender. Some posts referred to Baez Ramirez as a "DEI traitor" -- a reference to diversity in the ranks -- and many posts reviewed by Military.com quickly turned to calls for violence against her.

There is no evidence that commander broke any rules.

Please stop making excuses for the discriminatory behavior of the orange goon and his henchman.

As much as I wanted to turn Obama's picture over in our lobby I knew what the consequences would have been.

The Commander must have deemed it acceptable risk to do it.

Now its time to pay the piper.

And as we can see folks, find the closest female and blame her....for....wait for it....flipping a pic...which anyone could have done.
