Army Discharges Lt. Dan Choi, 'Don't Ask' Critic Who Told
I challenge anyone who is against repealing the DADT policy to watch the video in the attached link and make an argument why it strengthen the military to discharge this West Point graduate.
As he says in the end of the video, there have been nothing but positive ramifications among his infantry in the 17 months since he came out..."Honesty is the foundation of building teamwork and troop cohension". How can anyone possibly disagree with that?
LOL Ah disney. Ignore the rules when you don't believe in them.
What if everyone followed that idiotic advice of yours?

So how does discharging this guy strengthen the military?
We'd all be uber-liberals.
To my understanding, he broke the law. When you violate policy, you get punished. That's just a freshman civics lesson at work.
How does breaking the rules strengthen the military?
You inability to answer the question, other than with a question is duly noted.
The stupidity of your question was exposed. You can't justify breaking the rules because you don't understand how it strengthens the military.
But I'm not surprised you don't understand. Far left liberals like yourself never understand why they should follow rules or laws if they have a personal objection to them.
disneydude said:So by being honest, he gets discharged. If he lies, he can stay in the military. Wow....that's American values run amuk.
still avoiding the question I see. Why am I not surprized?
It didn't exactly "strengthen the military" to force this West Point graduate out, either. But when you break rules...I challenge anyone who is against repealing the DADT policy to watch the video in the attached link and make an argument why it strengthen the military to discharge this West Point graduate.

it doesn't strengthen the military whatsoever, He was very qualified and good at his job. He happened to have been gay so since in the military's eyes they are inferior he was discharged.
What happened to every man is created equal???
He did break the rules and should be discharged. The military functions on discipline. Obey orders. Period.
However, his case does serve as evidence that DADT is a flawed policy. He was out for 17 months and there were no negative effects. His being openly gay didn't ruin unit morale or cohesion. "It's the rules" does not justify the rule itself continuing to exist.
Well said, Deuce.
This law needs to change. It's amazing to me how a country that highly values it's freedom still cannot treat all it's citizens with equal rights.
It is equal. They don't ask heteros for orientation either.
You just probably don't hear about heterosexuals being in trouble for acting like bravado-stricken alpha males because that's dog-bites-man. News has to shock you or it's not news.
I support leaving sexuality out of military affairs, no matter which gender you like. That's pretty neutral to me. Once you get a furlough or shore leave, chase all the ass you want. On the clock, you do your job and you leave your pecker's desires at home.

He broke the rules. What is so hard to understand about that?
So if a solider was really great at his job but refused to wear a uniform he should be allowed to stay as well?
the rule is flawed and discriminates, what is so hard to understand about that?
If your Gay you must hide it because if we find out your fired, that sounds so equal and fair!
