Arizona GOP Audit Director Barred After Sharing Data Back...

The Republican overseeing the controversial GOP-backed election audit in Arizona has reportedly been banned from entering the building where the recount process is ongoing, after he shared some data with experts that showed the results match the officially certified numbers in Maricopa County.

The Arizona Republic reported on Friday evening that Ken Bennett, Arizona's former Secretary of State who has been described as the audit's "director," was barred from entering the building on the state fairgrounds where the audit is moving forward. The newspaper reported that Bennett had shared some of the audit data with outside experts showing that the ballot recount was tracking "very closely" with Maricopa County's certified results.

Cyber Ninjas, the Florida-based company conducting the audit on behalf of the state's Senate Republicans, told the publication that state Senate President Karen Fann, a Republican, made the decision to block Bennett from the building. Newsweek reached out to Fann for further comment but did not immediately receive a response.

How come he can't say that, after the Cyber Ninjas have been talking up their 'preliminary findings' for weeks?

It seems like the AZ Repubs have been up to a lot of serious hi-jinx here from the start. I mean seriously crazy shit. Why can't the grownups in Arizona slap them down a little? Don't you have lawyers? There have to be some sane judges around. What does your governor say about this squirrely secretive behavior?

Our governor is a flat worm by the name of Ducey, who has a sore ass from constantly sitting on the fence.
 
If the Republican party is this irrational now and has lost this much faith in democracy, what is a Republican-controlled House going to do in 2024 if the Democratic candidate wins?

“If there’s an election in 2024,” remember? Trump is not a legitimate politician- he’s an authoritarian leader and the gop is just him, his disciples and a few confused conservatives deciding whether or not they can afford to retire. The gop will either crumble or take over as a fascist regime. I’m putting my money on crumble but people are so stupid that I wouldn’t take even money on that bet. It’s scary to watch democracy die, but that’s absolutely their plan.

So the same Arizonan state senator Karen Fann claims that the election which gave the win to Biden but also gave her her own seat was fraudulent. Amazing.

How any thinking person can remotely see this"audit" as anything but a sham is astounding. Then again I very much doubt any thinking person does.
There is just so much, so wrong with this circus from the way the company was selected, the background of the owner, the wackiness of Fann, the way it is being funded, the "process" being kept secret, the lack of free media access.....on and on. What is wrong with people that they are in any way prepared to believe anything they say without literally having an audit of the audit?
Over the last month or so I have come to understand just how full blown conspiracy driven so many Trumpers are.......they a so far gone there will always be an excuse why facts are tossed aside in order to support their almost religious belief in Trump.

Seems you live in a bubble. Rasmussen polled and over half the country thinks audits should happen. Over 40% believe there was election fraud.

FACTS: Voters in Maricopa County may vote early or on Election Day. If a voter chooses to vote early, they may cast a mailed ballot or vote in person prior to Election Day. In both of these cases, the voter is casting an early ballot. For the November 2020 General Election, Maricopa County had 2,364,426 requests for an early ballot and 1,918,024 early ballots returned either by mail or voting in-person early.

The claim that Maricopa County had 74,000 more mail-in ballots than requests appears to be incorrectly calculated by comparing two files that are created during early voting, the EV32 and EV33 files. Created daily, the EV32 file is a listing of all voters that requested an early ballot on that day, while the EV33 file is a listing of all voters that returned a ballot on that day. State law requires the County prepare these daily files for the County political parties during early voting. The EV32 file must be created up until 11 days prior to Election Day, which is the last day a voter can request a ballot in the mail. The EV33 files must be created up until the day before Election Day. Any voter who cast an early ballot in person after Oct. 23, 2020 would not be included in the EV32 file and any voter that dropped off an early ballot on Election Day would not be included in the EV33 file. Any comparison using these files to find the total number of early voters would lead to inaccurate results. The “voted file” provides the full accounting of voters that cast a ballot in Maricopa County.
