Are you for a "You can't have that much money" act?

This doesn’t happen.

You’re in denial. Yeah, it happens. It is happening. 😆

‘We’re leaving!’: Rich Americans are ditching California and ‘taking their tax dollars with them — and now the tax rates they're fleeing have been raised even higher

People leave California because the cost of living is high, because so many people want to live there.

California lost 1 million residents in ten years. Even accounting for illegal aliens, it lost one congressional seat as a result of the 2020 U.S. Census. When was the last time that happened? Never! 😆

Yeah, the state is still living on that special allure that beckons to people who may have grown up staring at cornfields in Nebraska: mild weather, beautiful mountains and beaches, a unique. laid-back vibe. But all of that comes with a hefty price tag. And some people have returned thanks to the ending of the pandemic, coupled with return-to-office mandates. But California will have an increasingly bifurcated economy, which, as we are witnessing, has major implications for social stability in the state.

No it isn’t.

Californians leave because cost of living is so high, because people want to move there.

Oh they can manage just fine. But I want them to keep producing even after they reach $1B, and the only way to do that is NOT having some arbitrary limit placed on wealth by some internet stranger. Why? Because them being rich doesn't hurt me. Because being jealous every waking moment isn't my thing. I like shopping on Amazon using a Windows computer to buy a dirt-cheap, highly reliable Dell and don't give a shit if the three guys known for those three things are multi-billionaires.
I agree with this point. Let them grow their wealth as much as they can without getting any tax breaks. And make them pay workers more, so the govt doesn't gave to subsidize their success by paying benefits they can afford and should do so.

Even if Bezos and Musk paid a hundred times more in tax anx doubled everyone's salary, they'd still be the richest people. I don't care that they're rich. I care that I pay a bigger share of my income in taxes for services that get cut to pay for their tax breaks. I care that the workers who make their money for them get a pittance and rely on welfare.
