Simple question.

I am viscerally shaken and intellectually rocked by the rise of Trumpism, so similar to the rise of Hitler in Germany. Are you too?

I mean, we have 40% of the country that does not give a damn about facts or law. They would burn democracy to the ground before putting America values first. Our country is deteriorating before out eyes.

Everyone is a victim. Everyone wants a free ride.

So sad.

It's the last gasp of old white guys who are losing the demographics fight and the country. The last gasp may take the whole country with them, unfortunately.

Care to elaborate on that?

Modern conservatism is based on aggrevance. The constant "fight" to take something back that was supposedly unjustly taken from them. Donald Trump was a billionaire who kept telling everyone who would listen how awful and unfair life was to him. That's conservatives now.

lmao cry harder

I agree but I also do think it is time to back off the white male. First, its not really about color. Inequities are about class.
And second, it has been many decades that white males have been marginalized as blacks and women were chosen over them at every level that is not inherited. (Again class problem, where no progress has been made)

When the white male backs off of everyone else.

That answer is just an attack on conservatives as a whole and on Trump, does not explain or clairfy your question posed,

I've been around the sun many times, so many that I was aware of how rotten 1968 was. I have never been as unsure of America's future as I am now.

My first summer job as a kid was clearing the glass and debris every morning from the rioting the night before. So I too remember that period.
The differance? Our leaders had not sold their souls as today to a false idol. No one denied fact. They argued about best resolution.
We did not have propaganda from Fox.

Guess there will be a bunch of crap threads like this over the weekend?

Will the day of rage the pro abortion folks are calling for happen?

More Hitler nonsense?

Trumpism, conservatism and republican all became one nasty vat of vulgar under Donny.

Have you studied the rise of Adolf?
Really studied it?
If you had, you would understand.

I am disgusted by what Fox news and all the hate media they spawned more than Trump......Trump is the result of Fox and co. throwing integrity and truth in the toilet for profit......Murdoch and co knew from the get go that a large percentage of Americans were raised in ignorance and prejudice and religious bigotry and without the resources or the desire to pursue education......they used it to become gazillionaires and in the process polarized the nation more than since the Civil War.....and I am more disgusted with evangelical Christianity of which I was raised in and its blatant use of Jesus Christ for not only political power but for outright hatred.....

Long, fact filled article reads like a description of an anti democratic death cult

Experts warn of harmful public health consequences in Georgia if Roe is overturned

Enacting severe restrictions on abortion access—as Georgia will likely do if Roe v. Wade is overturned—could increase maternal mortality rates, worsen the existing crisis of a lack of OB-GYNs in the state, increase economic strain on families, and more

"An Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll in January showed about 68% of Georgia voters opposed overturning the Roe case, which has guaranteed the right to an abortion for nearly a half-century. In a 2019 poll, voters were more closely split on whether they backed the restrictive state law."

"....The already-severe, statewide OB-GYN shortage could reach a crisis level
In 2019, opponents of the “heartbeat bill” included physicians and medical students, who cited the state’s healthcare provider shortage, especially among OB-GYNs. Currently, half of the counties in the state do not have an obstetrics provider at all.

“We have a severe OB-GYN shortage that seems like it’s only going to get worse,” Swartzendruber says. She adds that Georgia already struggles with retaining its medical school students and resident trainees. Legislative restrictions that limit a provider’s ability to care for their patients would only exacerbate that shortage, she believes. “And that will be felt probably most heavily in rural areas and among communities that already have limited or harder access to healthcare services.”

Economic strains on Georgia families could worsen
..
“We know that people who are denied wanted abortions, compared to people who are given the care they wanted, have worse economic outcomes,” Swartzendruber says, including higher likelihood of household poverty, unemployment, lower credit scores, higher debt, and an inability to cover basic living expenses for their household. In 2017, more than a third of Georgia households were headed by single mothers.
“Many people who get abortions already have children,” Swartzendruber adds. “They’re choosing abortion because it isn’t the right time, or they’re seeking to better care for the children they already have, or because of their economic situation. So, thinking about the implications for those children and households as well . . . I think that is an often overlooked point.”

Dr. Danielle Lambert, a UGA College of Public Health researcher and assistant professor, points out another critical missing safety net: Georgia has not expanded Medicaid, creating a coverage gap that makes it difficult and expensive for thousands of people to access healthcare. “We have pretty high rates of uninsured individuals in Georgia, so thinking about how people are going to get access to healthcare . . . there are a lot of obstacles,” she says. (Earlier this year, lawmakers did extend the window of pregnancy Medicaid coverage from six months postpartum to twelve.)

Well said. It's like a woman I used to date, all she ever wanted was more and she told you so flat out. The gop are great victims even though as the minority they are ruling the country.

Years back a memo, co-authored by former Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri
that read “If Democrats don’t try to do everything in their power to defend Dreamers, that will jeopardize Democrats’ electoral chances in 2018 and beyond, in short, the next few weeks will tell us a lot about the Democratic Party and its long-term electoral prospects.”

History has never favored multi-cultural - multi-racial nations.

Humans are highly ethnocentric with a bias towards familiarity. That is why you have borders
to keeps un-familiar people out -and protect & insure a workiable society.
Isn't this what it's all about. It's here now for all to see, the upheaval of a
former harmonious society that's been gaining traction in the last 50 years.

With respect:

The problem is that you and most others likely believe that America won't continue being the biggest threat on Earth if T****ism were gone.

I have to admit that the Roe reversal has me finally admitting how bad Conservatives are and how much worse it might get. Are LGBTQ going to lose protections... roll back same sex marriage? Their hatred is astounding.
