All those years of confession and all those hail Mary's and our father's mean nothing? Maybe that's why I gave up the bullshit decades ago.

Absolutely NOTHING, salvation wise nor making one somehow better in the eyes of GOD. The "Our Father" was JESUS instructing HIS disciples in how to pray to the Heavenly Father and not what one MUST pray... The "hail Mary" was Mary's Aunt Martha's reaction to the arrival of Mary and the response of John in her womb. It's recorded to affirm that what Mary was carrying in her womb, and in fact what Martha was carrying in her womb, were both prophetic and miraculous. Nothing more and nothing less.
