In your opinon, do you believe teachers as a whole are overpaid and underworked? If so, why do you believe that? And where would you rate the teaching profession in terms of it being a respectful and appreciated profession?

If they are competent and good teachers they are not overpaid.

Respected and appreciated is on a case by case basis of each individual teacher for me ... yet my general feeling is one of appreciation and respect.

Sheesh, Fluffy. How did you not know that? Actually....I'm not sure I knew YOU were a teacher. Hmmmmm....

I'd take that.

Yeah and thats not counting the 6 yrs they didnt count from switiching over from Private to public. Then she comes home and teaches Piano or mostly Wind Instruments to students who pay for private lessons. She also teaches voice and is a Choir Director for a Presbyterian Church.

That's great! From the little that I've picked up on your personality here at DP.....I'd be willing to bet you are a pretty awesome teacher.

Then she is always on my azz to keep my desk clean. Plus anytime she finds papers of mine she always comes over and hands them to me like I am getting graded on some sort of test. Or she will lay them down next to me and thats whereever I am at. The garage, the bedroom, anywheres. I will be eating dinner and she will hands me the sheet of paper. Plus what really gets me going is when she start talking to me as if she is instructing a little kid.

That's not the average teacher's salary. Starting salary, maybe. I started at about $30K. You might be a little surprised at how much I make 9 years later....

Right, that's the starting salary. And correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't receive the same salary raises if you don't stay at the same school. Is that correct?

Well, that and depending on the district. In North Dakota it's not so bad considering the cost of living in most areas (boom areas, well, it's just pretty crappy regardless), even though we rank high 40s in the country as to average teacher salary.

Investor Supremacy (capitalism) does not create opportunities; it takes advantage of the opportunities created by the self-financed development of talent. The investors use mind control to get away with their claim to creation. Some of the future employees with talent believe this propaganda and engage in self-destructive sacrifice in order to become worthy of acceptance by their Masters. These Golden Serfs bail out the system from time to time, but it continues to sink because of its top-heavy superstructure. But those at the top of the mast always declare clear sailing ahead.
