Ex-Jehovah's witness reveals secrets of religious group

The treatment of women, child abuse and how to prevent being visited by followers of the religion are among topics confronted by ex-member

Other than the blood thing, they aren't much different than any other bible thumping religious cult.

The blood thing is huge, it dangerous.

JW's believe that it is against God's will to receive blood and therefore, they refuse blood transfusions.

Doing so leads to expulsion.

It begs the question, what about the children.

The author writes..

Those who leave the faith are called "apostates" and are "disfellowshipped", a term for formal expulsion and shunning, where members are "prohibited from talking, and even from saying 'hello' to them.
That's how you tighten the reins on a cult, consolidate the group by shunning.

They put the rest of the Christians to shame, often....................they practice their faith

They appear to be mostly harmless and inept cultists who went all-in on a god that couldn’t even flood the world properly and is really into forced incest. I say let them be.

Women cannot teach in the congregation, they cannot deliver public talks or say public prayers.

She has to wear a scarf on her head as a sign of being submissive on some occasions.

Sounds a little bit like the Taliban to me.

Although there are no officially published statistics, it is estimated that about 1,000 JW's die each year through abstaining from blood transfusions.

This not harmless.

Another silly cult.

Tammy is a personal friend...

Tammy Martin-Whorley was having severe heart troubles. The Christiansburg, Virginia, native had an aortic valve regurgitation—which occurs when a person’s aortic valve, located on the left side of the heart, doesn’t close tightly—along with an ascending aortic aneurysm, which was affecting the blood flow from the heart to the rest of her body. After being turned down by two major academic medical centers, Tammy, a Jehovah’s Witness, had her surgery performed at Johns Hopkins without the use of a blood transfusion. To learn more about the Center for Bloodless Medicine and Surgery at Johns Hopkins, visit http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/bloodl... or call 877-474-8558.

Anti science, anti woman, anti reason cult.

When Michael suffered a life-threatening aortic dissection and needed an operation, he was told he would die without a blood transfusion. No hospital local to Northeast Pennsylvania would do the bloodless procedure, so a family friend made the call to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, where Michael was helicoptered for emergency surgery. Finding the life-saving consideration and compassion he was looking for, Michael chose Englewood for life.

So when can we expect your next thread, where you take pleasure bashing Joe Biden's religion, the R. Catholics?

Yet for an organization you wish to vilify they do a lot for those in need of help.
As does all/most religions in the US and yet they are not all free of scandal, particularly child abuse.

"Religious organizations account for 30% of all child sexual abuse losses in Advisen’s database. This is the second greatest frequency for all industries, behind only elementary and secondary schools at 39%. All other industries account for less than 10% of the total child sexual abuse losses."
