So, April 1st is today, what's the worst April fools prank you've either done or had done to you?​

Wasn't involved with this one, obviously, but several years ago NPR ran an April Fools Day story about the WWF (World Wrestling Federation) acquiring NPR in a non-hostile takeover. They even had a mock interview with the (supposed) WWF's head of investor relations. Rather enjoyed that one.
 
Today is my best friend's birthday. The stuff we pulled on that poor guy over the years...

OK, all the **** I've been making up, I been making it all up,... April fools.

I'm really a paid troll, some D.C. bosses like to see what I can do and they maintain me as their gay lover,... April fools.

I might go back to work, buy a car and get off SSI,... April fools.
 
Way back in the 1950's black and white early days of UK television, a prestigious factual programme showed a clip about the unusually large spaghetti harvest in Italy. This was before the days of cheap flights and foreign travel, so many people were unaware that this exotic foodstuff DIDN'T grow on trees bedecked with noodles blowing in the breeze!

So a few years back I got one of those fake lottery scratch tickets that show you won hundreds of thousands of dollars. I went to where one of my friends worked and pretended to find it on the floor, then said "what the hell, you have it, it's here in your shop".

He scratched, and went nuts, jumping around, whooping and hollering, the whole thing. Then I said "I found it, we should split it" and he said "**** you, get outta my shop, I'm heading for Topeka to cash this baby in". And he left. I let him go without telling him it was a joke, I was so pissed off.

I never heard from him again.
