No. It's a desperate last minute smear campaign. The Telegraph is running with how they were under surveillance by special branch for decades, and no doubt the Express is joining in but I don't have the stomach to look.
You should know better than reading the Daily Mail, nota. It has the credibility of the National Enquirer.I keep only superficially with English politics, but this Daily Mail accusation shocks me:
Today, the Daily Mail accuses Jeremy Corbyn, John McDonnell and Diane Abbott — the troika who could run the next government — of being unashamed apologists for terror, who have devoted their lives to befriending the enemies of Britain while undermining the very institutions that keep us safe in our beds.
The ineluctible truth is that the Daily Mail was an enthusiastic supporter of Adolf Hitler almost up to the outbreak of war. It hasn't changed its politics in the intervening 70 years....the ineluctable truth is that the Labour leader and his closest associates have spent their careers cosying up to those who hate our country, while pouring scorn on the police and security services and opposing anti-terror legislation over and over and over again.
See above. Once you've gone there you can literally go anywhere.I know it's the Daily Mail, but isn't this particularly strong even for it?

Hilarious, how are the opposition, the ones who did not have any political power, guilty of undermining the institutions that are keeping the Brits safe in their beds. That responsibility lies with the people in power for the past decade or so. They are the ones who set the budget, make policy decisions, etc. etc. etc. That is not done by the opposition now is it.
But May was doing bad in the polls so she has gone to "alternative facts" to get re-elected.
Now don't get me wrong, I dislike Corbyn hugely, he is the kind of "old school" socialist that I disapprove of. And his stunt of sitting on the floor in the train to make a fake news story (because he in fact had a seat) still nauseates me bigly. But the power of the tories has to be kept in check so I hope Labor at least is going to do good enough to not give the tories outright majority in parliament so that Teresa May has to work to get her policies approved.
Do they oppose anti-terrorism legislation over and over?
They have 23,000 under surveillance, so it's going to be tricky keeping tabs on them all. What I can assure you is that it's not because they don't want to offend.I don't know, but I was listening to the TV while outside yesterday (so I don't really know who it was) and they were very angry at the leaders in the UK since the terrorist was a known danger and nothing was done but "watching". He was basically saying that they were afraid of offending anyone, so they do nothing. That the terrorist was known by their intelligence as a threat and nothing was done is what shocks me. They apparently have many of these types under watch, but they don't arrest or get rid of them.
Those three orcs were reported, corralled and taken out within 8 minutes of being reported. I'd say that that shows incredible levels of preparedness and training that I don't believe any other police force in the world could beat. One thing this terrible series of events has managed to do is to shine a light on just how GOOD the UK's emergency services are at responding to terrorist crises. The Met and the GM police and ambulance services are awesome! He was also saying how ill prepared and trained the police were. That many aren't trained against weapons, and that needs to change. If the police had guns those people would have had a chance.

Yes, it does make you scratch your head, doesn't it? There definitely seems to have been a failure of surveillance or intel on him.Yes, 23,000 is a lot (why so many??) but this one was pretty obvious according to reports. London Bridge attack latest: Terrorists named as police say they were not under surveillance as they posed 'low risk'
The ringleader of the London Bridge terror attack was so open about his extremist views that he appeared in a fly-on-the-wall documentary entitled The Jihadis Next Door, it emerged on Monday.
Khuram Butt, 27, a British national who was born in Pakistan, was filmed praying in front of an Isil flag in London’s Regent’s Park as part of a controversial Channel 4 programme that was broadcast in January last year.
By the time the documentary went out, the father of two had already been under investigation by the police and MI5 for six months.
And it was reported that he was arrested trying to enter Syria, but waltzed right back into the UK.
The police who responded to the call were fully armed and took 8 minutes to take out 3 terrorists. Let's not forget that the same kind of attack happened in Berlin, Nice and Stockholm where the police are routinely armed. The same, in fact worse, outcomes happened in those places.I'm not putting down the police response at all. They prevented further deaths by their quick reactions. However this could have been avoided if they were properly armed:
Another hero.Another officer, who worked for the British Transport Police, was stabbed in the face, head and legs when he took on all three attackers with just his baton. He was is in a stable condition in hospital. Two more officers were hurt.
London attack: Off-duty police officer 'rugby tackled knife-wielding terrorist' | The Independent
Why British police don't have gunsBut one thing is clear. When asked, police officers say overwhelmingly that they wish to remain unarmed.
A 2006 survey of 47,328 Police Federation members found 82% did not want officers to be routinely armed on duty, despite almost half saying their lives had been "in serious jeopardy" during the previous three years.
It is a position shared by the Police Superintendents' Association and the Association of Chief Police Officers.

I think your 'arm the police' line is a bit diversionary, but I will point out that it's not woolly, bleeding-heart liberals that don't want police officers to be routinely carrying firearms, it's the police themselves who don't want it.
Why British police don't have guns
No they don't. Please stop believing tabloid lies. They have 23,000 under surveillance
One of the most stupid attacks in this article is that Corbyn did not blare vocally "God save the Queen", he stood there in silent remembrance of the fallen of the battle of Britain but according to this that is tantamount to betrayal.
That in the picture several people can be seen not singing the anthem, including soldiers and others is totally being ignored.
Also, at other events he has sung the national anthem, so this is another pathetic biased attack on Corbyn.
The train attack was pretty ludicrous too. It became a he-said, she-said to-and-fro between Corbyn and Branson, whose side you seem to have taken on the matter. Corbyn's version was backed up by eyewitnesses however, not by gloomy and inconclusive CCTV footage.

Much has been made of Corbyn's meeting with IRA members. He freely admitted to a meeting with Sinn Fein politicians. He never attanded a fundraiser, like this fella:
Of course, Northern Ireland has moved towards peace, and the DUP, like their opponents in Sinn Fein, have rescinded violence. As part of that normalisation, the fact that parties which include people who have rescinded violence can be brought into the democratic process is a good thing. But for the Tories to end an election campaign which they spent attacking Corbyn for his alleged links to former Northern Irish terrorists by going into coalition with a party founded by former Northern Irish terrorists would be a deep irony.
Wonder if this newspaper is now going to go after Theresa May for aligning herself with the DUP? A party with terrorist links, who are supported by the UDA, a terrorist organization just as evil as the IRA as (only they murdered catholics and that did not make the news as much as IRA crimes against protestants and British soldiers).
Personally I doubt the Mail will go after May for that.
On a personal note, I am happy Labor did well, still do not like Corbyn, he is too red/bordering on communism.
Earlier in the programme, Hannah Stewart, co-head of the security and extremism unit at think tank Policy Exchange, also called on the authorities to release the overdue inquiry.
Over the years literature considered “intolerant at least and in some cases extremist” had been found in British mosques which could be directly traced back to Saudi publishers, she said.
“The Saudi regime has one of the most appalling human rights records in the world. If it has played any role in funding or fuelling terrorism or violent groups then we must know. The report must be published, no matter who it is embarrassing for,” Andrew Smith of the Campaign Against Arms Trade told The Independent.
