Some AOC voters voted for Trump because of populism. Look at her insta...

As I have said so many a times, people looove the anti establishment politicians...

The left, my people, need no more corporate robots like Kamala, but disrupters like Trump (even though he is a fake populist) like in the mold of Bernie who give people the idea of authenticity (bernie is actually real)

As I have said many a times...perception is reality...Trump is a whore to doners, but he has the veneer of populism...

We need a Jon Stewart, who was good on Biden from early on...

I subscribe this to the fact that left-wing populism and right-wing populism are not as different as we would like to think.

Yep, the cars of both camps can get pretty cozy together.

The issue is that populism can encompass both people who want certain things to change, and people who just want anything to change.

Populism (left or right) will never institutionalize change because it rejects an elite faction which is the foundation for true political revolution.

The end result is that populism might make the peasantry feel very good but it is quickly subverted by the entrenched elite to serve their own interests. Right populism targets "marginalized" groups and left populism targets the Kulaks, but both never seem to accomplish much in terms of actually removing the entrenched beauacracy. How curious.

They are world's apart

Right wing populism is not real,.the right wing always loves big business...

My contention is that we on the left need a populist who means it for the left!

No,.left populism is supposed to hate on elites
...but than direct that anger not against marginalised people, but the capital class

No,.left populism is supposed to hate on elites

All effective and lasting political revolutions were built on a counter elite looking to usurp the entrenched elite. Outright rejecting elitism as a whole is a recipe for failure, which is why populism is a dead end ideology.

You say it. History demonstrates that the people who get it the worst are the wealthy peasants (Kulaks) who are caught in between the hammer of the revolution leadership and the anvil of the lower class peasantry. No thanks.

Until the Democratic rank and file find someone with the determination to get rid of the Democratic Elites, they will ALWAYS be sheep. It doesn't matter how many there are like you in the party, you don't have the power or the leadership to get rid of them yourselves.
